In reply to: [Responsive Photo Gallery] space on wordpress pageThanks… that worked. Now, is there a way to reduce the space between the photos in the galleries?
–Deactivating all other plugins, including caches, had no effect; when I upload photos, I still get broken links where the photos should be. Cleared cache.
–I did not switch themes, as I have never done it before and I wouldn’t know how to get the old theme back.
— I now suspect my theme, WordPress Theme 1135, may be the culprit as I acquired it in 2011 and had my provider at the time alter the theme to my specifications. My trouble began when I updated WordPress from 3.2.1 to 4.5.2. I imagine the old theme is incompatible with the new WordPress version in many ways. My site no longer accepts comments. I have my current host liquidweb looking into this, but I have a feeling I’ll have to rip out the theme and use another one. However the site is massive and I have no idea how to install an updated theme.
One more problem with nextgen: to add photos to a gallery you can’t pick them out from a list in Manage Galleries as you had before, you have to scroll through a list of galleries with just the names, not the numbers. Since I hve over 8700 galleries that takes awhile.
Until I get the nextgen problems cleared up I have switched to Responsive, with which I’m not completely happy either.

In reply to: WordPress not accepting commentsYes, tried that for several posts and “allow comments” is checked.
I usually get about 10-20 comments per day but since I switched, nothing.

In reply to: the photo button beside Upload/Insert has stopped workingIt was malware as I suspected. My host reported:
I did a malware scan and found one file that was maclious:
/home/[login password]/public_html/wp-content/gallery/hp_3/thumbs/wf.php
I replaced the wp-includes folder and the wp-admin folder with clean folders. Everything seems to be working properly and the redirect is no longer happening.Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: the photo button beside Upload/Insert has stopped workingEven trying an end around using Next Gen Gallery doesn’t work, as photos now fail to upload there.

In reply to: the photo button beside Upload/Insert has stopped working–Deactivating all plugins did not enable the upload button, so I reactivated.
–I would like to upgrade but my template, Provecho, does not fully accommodate wordpress updates. Some links and pages in the upper right disappear.

Do you think it is still wise to disable W3 Total Cache to repair the gibberish problem, and if so, how do I do that? Thanks.

In reply to: screen full of gibberishIn a separate problem, people with mobile phones say they could not see all the photos on Forgotten New York. Is this an associated problem, or are they two separate things?

Are you saying I should install W3 Total Cache, or remove it if it’s there?
