In reply to: Events Calendar vs Gigs Calendar vs EC3Events Calendar 311 rc3 works fine with WordPress 2.5 if you patch it. I’ve also emailed Alex Tingle who wrote it and says he’s been pretty busy but rest assured, he plans to update his Events Calendar plugin.
In the spirit of ‘open source’ if anyone wants a zipped version of the calendar I mentioned above (which works OK for me) let me know. I would of course suggest that anyone feeling generous make a donation to the author.

In reply to: Serious Problem with posts in WordPress 2.5My main site is Windows hosted, though I have another which is Linux hosted and 2.5 works far better (full wysiwyg editor and all). The problem is with the ajaxed upload screen, which in my main site using IE7 descends below the taskbar making button clicking impossible. At least in Firefox I can attempt to upload an image. If I do I get a ‘image failed upload test’ kind of error message, before finding a copy in my image gallery. Attempting to insert that image then becomes a problem as it won’t insert using the familiar insert image method, resulting in the copying and pasting of link code to make it work.
A real bug making posting a problem.

In reply to: Plugins managementVolunteering would be interesting but not much use I think. Essentially the structure for such development would have to be done WordPress side. Things like
- Gauge interest amongst developers
- Provide development tools for cooperation
Get sponsorship for plugin awards for:
- Most improved plugins by vote/download
- Most interesting/wacky merger of two plugins
It would be important though to encourage further innovation.

I appreciate that, though the principal still applies, though it would require someone to organise it.

In reply to: Are your sites running slow?Sometimes my site loads pretty quickly and other times all I get is a blank page with a ‘done’ in the bottom of the screen, or parts of the page do not load at all. I have added the ‘cache’ plugin to help, which does speed things up, though the admin panel on my Windows hosted site does not appear.
Testing the loading of my site on my mobile, I sometimes get a ‘no response from server’ message. I plan to contact my hosts.
Perhaps plugins should be given a rating to how fast they may run?
