Any further thoughts on this? I’d certainly be grateful for some guideance. To try and isolate teh problem I built a new installation using Twenty Eleven, slider and everything working fine – installed BuddyPress – slider still working fine, then installed the Buddypress Template Pack plug-in, to make the theme BuddyPress-compatible – that’s when the slider stops working.

I have the same issue. It is discussed here, with a possible solution.

If you don’t see the three header images it will be because I have had to disable the header slider to work on the site, but I will leave it enabled when I can.

It seems to have worked for me!
Had a white screen for a while then it went and all ok so far.

have you tried wp-admin instead of wp-login.php or vice versa?

This is a ‘me too’. This is happening a lot to me.
Then suddenly after about 5 attempts I can log in.
