I had the same problem while the “Classic Editor” plug-in was installed and activated. I deactivated this (very popular) plug-in and now data is saved for new events.
I know you said you deactivated all other plug-ins, but this one step is what solved it for me; also using WP version 5.1.

This change in enigma-theme.css to the header (h1 – h6) styles, that just came in by automatic update, really screwed up my website until I realized what happened. Why on earth was the change made for all headers, especially in ‘enigma_blog_post_content’, to be white (on a white background)?!?! For site viewers, all headings have disappeared!!
What were you thinking??

Thanks for the advice, but even though I already did this, I still see the fonts loading when I view page source. I’m not using Roboto or Raleway, but they still appear as webfont requests for each page.
After some pingdom analysis, it seems that each page load comes in at over 1MB, which seems like too much to me. Some optimization must help — and the pages are not that heavy with large images (they are quite compressed).

Okay, I followed the link; but not sure where to specify the one theme font and prevent the others, especially if only for the child theme I’ve set up.
Also, in the page analysis from pingdom.com there is a long “/css?family=Rock+Salt….” path item that gets a ‘403 Forbidden’ status, which can’t be good…
(I do want to chiefly use ‘Open Sans’ as the theme font, so don’t need Roboto, Raleway, Courgette.) So do I possibly edit a (non-child-theme) file that could get overwritten by a future theme update?
Just would like a little more detail on the potential speed increase.

I am also finding the loading of my site based on Enigma (using child theme) to be very sluggish. I’m looking at the page source/resources and see that it seems like a lot of loading of web fonts that may not even be used in the theme (like Raleway and Courgette, etc.).
I don’t have many plug-ins at all and only one post. I really think I’d like to remove all the unneeded webfont loading…
