In reply to: [NK Google Analytics] Don't want to track logged-in admin usersHi Marodok,
I tested the beta version every way I could think of and it worked perfectly.
Well done, but (there is always a but)…
I installed the beta version over the 1.3.9 version, and it didn’t pick up the Google Analytics ID from the 1.3.9 version. I had to re-enter the Google ID, which isn’t the best.
Anyway, thank you very much.

In reply to: [NK Google Analytics] Don't want to track logged-in admin usersHi Marodok,
Thank you for your efforts, but something is not quite right.
I can’t activate the beta version of your plugin, and I am getting the following error message at the top of my plugin page:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home/wantok/public_html/walkinginfrance.info/wp-content/plugins/nk-google-analytics/NKgoogleanalytics.php on line 84
Best wishes

In reply to: [Search & Replace] Warning: preg_replace() errorHi Frank,
I just struck the same error Josh.
The error message is:
Warning: preg_replace() [function.preg-replace]: Compilation failed: missing terminating ] for character class at offset 3 in /home/wantok/public_html/walkinginfrance.info/wp-content/plugins/search-and-replace/search-and-replace.php on line 717
and seems to be related to searching for a string that contains an opening square bracket [ but does not contain a closing square bracket ]
If there is no opening square bracket the plugin works beautifully, as it has done for several years.

In reply to: [NK Google Analytics] Suggestion: non include code as administratorWell done Tito.
Your original suggestion is a very good one, and your suggested code seems to work perfectly – it is exactly what I have been looking for.
Hopefully, marodok will include it in a future release.
Thank you very much for your promt reply.
I am not sure what caused the table to be corrupted, but I have rebuilt the table from a backup, and is now working fine.
Whew, what a relief! Thank goodness for backups!!!
And thank you for your excellent plugin.

In reply to: menu item limitHi Bustel.
After two years of menu contortions to get around a limit of 89 menu items, a solution!
php_value max_input_vars 5000
worked for me
Thanks very much

In reply to: Set up default image title and captions?SEO Friendly Images plugin will do it for you. I use it and it works very well.
Sorry, I’m wrong. SEO Friendly Images doesn’t do bulk captions, only Titles and the ALT attributes
On the other hand, as a 69 year old grandpa, I can’t help but point out that the original error message you got told you precisely what the problem was, that is, it was an error in Smush.it due to you exceeding their 1MB image limit.
So, it’s not just grandpas and grandmas who have trouble having things explained to them!
If you didn’t understand the error message you could have looked at the Smush.it website (like this 69 year old grandpa did) to get some more information about the problem…
Your problem is not caused by this plugin but rather with Smush.it.
On the Smush.it FAQ page (https://developer.yahoo.com/yslow/smushit/faq.html) it states:
Smush.it can process JPG, GIF, and PNG images that are up to one megabyte in size.
Do you really need to post photos bigger than 1Mb? Why don’t you just reduce them is size before posting and Smushing them?
After weeks of never getting a single image Smushed I finally hit the jackpot.
I Smushed about 250 images with no problems this morning.
One thing, rather than using the Bulk Smush.it, I Smushed each image individually. Tedious, but it finally worked!
Thanks very much
Assuming that you are correct and the plugin is working correctly, and it is just a coincidence that before I upgraded to v. 1.6 the plugin worked, but since I upgraded over a week ago it has never worked in dozens of attempts, I think it is a bit rich to describe it as “detecting if the service [Sumsh.it] is down and gracefully handing this error condition”.
There is nothing graceful or particularly informative about “Operation timed out after 20000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received” except telling me something I already knew; my images were not been Sumshed.
It would have been nice if we had been told that “The problem is that Yahoo’s smush.it service is not 100% available” which does tell us something useful.
Actually, from my experience, the service has been available 0% of the time for the past week. An amazing coincidence, assuming the plugin is working correctly!

In reply to: wp smush it isnt workingSame for me.
WP Smush.it Version 1.5.0 worked, but since updating to Version 1.6.0, if I upload a new image, it is not Smushed, and if I click on Smush.it now! I get the message “Automatic smushing has been disabled temporarily due to an error. Operation timed out after 20000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received”.
In other words WP Smush.it is now completely smushed!

In reply to: [Hyper Cache] Only one file appearing in hyper-cache directoryFurther to the previous message.
The single file that appears in the wp-content/cache/hyper-cache/ always has the same name; 3a06044615c67ec66fac1794117a876a.dat and it is always the cache of my site’s front page (so far).
It can take a few hours before this file appears in the cache.
I would very much like to sort this problem out because the plugin is working beautifully on my secondary site, but the problem is on my most important site.
