Having the same issue. Can’t seem to upload a photo directly through the User–>Profile area. Only Gravatars will show.

I think I discovered (at least part of) the issue. I have been using the Fourteen Extended plugin but the developer has taken the plugin down now. I deactivated the plugin and it fixed the italics/bold issue I was talking about.

It was the Co-Authors Plus plugin. Works now! Thanks so much.

Not sure how long it’s been like this. Will try deactivating plugins and see which one is causing the problem. Thank you!
