Thank you very much Esmi…ALL SORTED :)I really appreciate your help (and I’ve learned something very valuable I think!)

FYI – I changed the plugin name in my Plesk Panel…
For any body else’s convenience experiencing the same problem, the following solved my issue:-

Reset your plugins folder via FTP or the file manager provided in your host’s control panel.

Via FTP or your host’s file manager, navigate to the wp-contents folder (directory)
Via FTP or your host’s file manager, rename the folder “plugins” to “plugins.hold”
Login to your WordPress administration menus (/wp-admin)
Via FTP or your host’s file manager, rename “plugins.hold” back to “plugins”

Thank you…just downloaded 2012 from your link, set site temporarily to 2011 and deleted all other themes (from WP control panel), uploaded new 2012 from my download folder and activated it (from WP control panel)…no difference unfortunately???

Thank you for responding…however I believe you may have landed on the site at a time of a ‘glitch’ with the server; it it up and running now.

Can you help me with the menu issue?

One thing I have thought of is that I did ‘activate’ the 2013 Theme after upgrading to WordPress 3.6 to take a look at it…but I immediately reactivated 2012 thereafter. I only did this on this particular site…

    Many thanks

    Hi Maeve

Thanks for your reply – it was a legit email address to begin with.
FYI – My Guinea Pig did receive her email but it arrived about 30 mins or so after the transaction with Paypal. 101 reasons for this I’m sure and none of them to do with your plug-in! I never received an email when I tested it out on myself.

Many thanks…I’ll keep you posted on how it’s working.
    Best wishes
    Kevin

Maeve…I’m thinking this may be as important to you as it is to me to make sense of so I thought I’d paste in the email from the autoresponder that did work (FYI – I haven’t altered the ‘from email’ address or ’email subject’)

    Hi Maeve

Just to let you know my friend repeated the buy cycle and this time didn’t get the autoresponder email either…the return email function works properly every time.

    Thanks
    Kevin

    Hi Kev

Paypal sent me to this link https://kevinwilliams-thisistheday.com/thank-you-for-your-donation/

But I only got sent the receipt from paypal no welcome email with access code

    Thanks
    A

    Thanks Maeve

FYI – A friend went through my buy cycle as a favour to test and she did get my thank you email from your autoresponder – however I completed the cycle twice previous to that using my wife’s CCard and what I believed to be unique and unrelated email to me (i.e. not recognisable by my WP site or Paypal) but still she didn’t get a response from the autoresponder but she did get her receipt from Paypal as you would expect to the email we put in…we paid as a guest user also (i.e not logging into any personal Paypal account so I could enter whatever email I liked for Paypal receipt purposes).

Perhaps WP or your plugin recognised I was sending and receiving from the same computer? All I can think of…

FMI – Is there a way of testing the autoresponder without having to go through the pay cycle proper so I can see/check what the email looks like as delivered?(I’ve used code so I can add a couple of photos)

Many thanks for your plugin and for taking the time to respond to me.

    Very best wishes
    Kevin

    Hi Maeve

Firstly, thank you; I really appreciate your plugin.

I am struggling with autoresponds too and my emails autoresponds aren’t going out either. I am very new to WP and developing…I am missing something basic? Does the ‘from email’ for instance have to marry up with my WP site email in ‘settings’ or my email that Paypal has stored for me or can it be any email I would like my customer to see?

…and does my ‘message’ have to contain certain tags in the text body in order to work?

I am using it exactly as you mentioned in FAQ “to sell access to a private site – after successful checkout user is sent the password to log in.”

I want to give my customer their login password using this email.

    Sorry if I’m being stupid…
    Many thanks
    Kevin
