Hi, for me also same problem. I installed wordpress sphinx search plugin in wordpress 3.3.1 and Twenty Ten Theme.
When i tried to search using Search and Sphinx search Widgets i get an error,

help me in fix this ASAP.
Also i have tried all the steps from the tutorial comments given below in this link.
