The site owner says the button displayed properly on all pages for a while. We have narrowed down the when to when I upgraded WP version.
At this point she would still like it there but is ok if it is reoved from all pages but the index page.

hi and thanks. On the front page (index) there is a button on the left hand column. There is a search properties are followed by a button that says “View all condos”. In that space on all the other pages in that spot it says categories, and has a list of links under it, she would like the view all condos on all the pages. it does look rather bad on the pages that just have text there, thanks for your time

Thanks for the emailed advice. i hadn’t thought bout that but it did work. The formatting problem remains, though. It holds and then breaks which is really weird, I am still open to suggestions. This 3.5.1, they upgraded it in the last few days, but the problem was there before and after the upgrade.

btw thanks for the info on how to do this, hopefully I will be able to follow them. i have added a number of noframes sites in the last few years. they go up not down. to me that is all that matters. if you can do the seo without interfering with the appearance of the site and make the client and google happy at the same time, then it is a good thing, especially as it does work.

this is a good page to look at but all the non dynamic pages have noframes specific to the page. I have been doing this for 17 years. I know what works and doesnt and what is white hat and black hat. never had a client slapped down by google, ever.

These are not throw away sites. it is also not a red flag black hat thing. The Breckenridge Associates site I sent you to has been using them for 6 years. By the way I didn’t embed the code on the index page, so just click to any secondary page you wish. If this were bad Google would have done something by now. Over 6 years they went from page 8 to #1 using this. It is something everyone forgot. It uses valid html for its valid purpose.

The noframes tag was originally developed to give a browser something to display if it couldn’t display frames. They expect that content to convey the essence of the frameset, ie whatever it says. I was hired and was the director of marketing at greatpricedfurniture.com for three years till they sold to another company. My use of the tag took hundreds of their pages and moved them to front page usually #1 – 3 on google.

The noframes tag goes in the header. the spider reads top to bottom. It reads the noframes. If there is a navigation off the page from the noframes the spiders will follow them. this allows for things that might make presentation look questionable like h1 tags. i just stick the body section of the page itself in there but can place words in h1 tags and have the outbound navigation be more keyword rich. Just do everything in moderation. ?? I don’t understand the part about how to open the head, I am not that proficient lol

well, i have been using it for 17 years, it still works. the engines stopped reading keywords tags a long time ago. Trust me it works, Google panda likes it, one of my clients leapfrogged three spots to #1 on google after i installed it. I know, I started doing seo before seo was a phrase. When I started in 97 it was called: “can you get my web site to show up on Yahoo! or Alta Vista”
I want to place a noframes tag on every page. it is a very old almost unknown white hat seo trick.
Thanks, I may have a question or two about this and your suggestions, I am an seo guy and don’t build sites much any more.
