In reply to: [Plugin: Twitter Tools] Cant login with itI’ve been having this same problem on one of my sites. The strange thing is, the plugin accepts another Twitter account. So it works with one but not the other. Weird. I’m on version 2.9.2 of WordPress and version 2.3.1 of the plugin.

In reply to: Post Thumb Revisited displays only default imageI have done some more messing around and discovered the following:
The plugin is only generating thumbnails for images in posts that are uploaded to WordPress. Most of my images are offsite at Flickr, etc. These are not thumbnail-ified.
I have now tested this plugin on two separate WordPress 2.6.1 installs, hosted at two different DreamHost accounts. Both have the same issue.
In an exact local copy of one of these sites, running on my own machine, the issue is not present, the plugin generates thumbnails for all images, including the ones at Flickr.
I have tried several versions of this plugin, I am now using the last dev version (2.3 or 412).

In reply to: Mass assigning uncategorized posts to a categoryIn the end I bit the bullet and resaved every single post, tgiokdi. If I had a better solution I would have shared it with you. I think it’s silly the posts aren’t properly (un)categorized when doing this, but then, who am I?

In reply to: Post Thumb Revisited displays only default imageYou and me both asystentka28… I have the plugin up and running locally, but not at the site over at Dreamhost (in Dutch by the way). My theory is that, for whatever reason, the plugin can’t detect images in the posts. As for a fix, I have yet to find one.

In reply to: wp-config.php and secret key in upgrade from 2.2Thanks Otto42, that helps me in ruling out a cause for issues I have been having since my upgrade.
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: wp-config.php and secret key in upgrade from 2.2Which is totally clear Otto42, but what I was asking is:
What happens if by accident, you put those two items in the
wp-config.php
of an ‘old’ WordPress blog and then upgrade the database? Does it affect the database?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Mass assigning uncategorized posts to a categoryGee, thanks zackisaiah, that looks like it should work, if I had a backup of the original posts that is, which I don’t. ?? But thanks nonetheless. I think my only solution is some clever PHP/MySQL hacking…
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: wp-config.php and secret key in upgrade from 2.2Otto42, what happens when one inadvertently adds the lines
define('DB_CHARSET', 'utf8'); define('DB_COLLATE', '');
to
wp-config.php
? (Like myself.)Does it influence what happens when you upgrade your database?
I’m asking this because I have since had issues with several plugins, and text misbehaves if I leave the lines in the configuration file…

In reply to: Mass assigning uncategorized posts to a categoryExactly Madmblue. I have better things to do. ??
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Mass assigning uncategorized posts to a categoryTo elaborate: The posts I’m trying to edit aren’t even assigned to the “Uncategorized” category. If you look at the screenshot in my first post, you’ll see that some have the category “Uncategorized” linked, and some don’t. Those that don’t actually are not assigned to any category whatsoever. How this came to be, again, I have no clue. ??

In reply to: Mass assigning uncategorized posts to a categoryThanks for that Otto42. This is one of the plugins I tried. The problem is, it only allows you to select on assigned categories. Since the posts I’m trying to edit aren’t assigned to any category, I can’t get them to show up using this plugin. If only it would allow me to do negative selection: “show me all posts not assigned to any category”…
I am thinking of just writing a PHP script to do this for me, but my SQL is rusty, so I’m hoping someone can help me get started with that.

In reply to: Tag-related issues with wp_rewrite in 2.3Not really a fix but doing a clean install of WordPress has stopped the above issues from occurring. A bit painful, but acceptable.

In reply to: Thumbnails went missing in upload manager!I’m having a similar issue after downloading the files from an old install and uploading them to a new one, the URLs pointing to the old files are wrong.
A correct URL (of a freshly uploaded file in the new install) looks like this: https://leapfrog.dreamhosters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/485214145_f59d32cf03.jpg
An incorrect URL (of an ‘imported’ file) looks like this: https://leapfrog.dreamhosters.com/blog/?attachment_id=384
I’m guessing it’s a permalink / .htaccess problem… Any ideas on a fix would be very welcome!

In reply to: Possible to rebuild thumbnails?I’m having similar problems. Thumbnails aren’t showing up in wp-admin after I uploaded them from an ‘old’ blog to a fresh WP installation. Permalinks and rights on files don’t seem to be the issue. A way to rebuild the thumbnails would be very welcome…

In reply to: Missing categories in the Write Post pageExcellent aprilprincesse, I had the same problem, and this fixed it for me. Anyone who can explain why this limit is there?
I’m abusing the WordPress categories as tags, so they’ve quickly gone from a few to over a hundred…
