I’m having the same exact issue. I am using User Profiles Made Easy for registration and just installed FunCaptcha. All that shows up is the word “array”.

Same here! This is still an issue with the latest update.

I decided to go back to version 1.37 is everything works again.

I reactivated the plugin and the buttons reappeared but the style is off. Instead of the green button that turn blue when you hover over, it’s a white button with faint text. I cleared the cache on the server too. Now what?

Your plugin is perfect and works great. I tried to explain it in as detailed as I can. My participants run all over the world. All I want is to provide them a place to enter their time for an event that has no specific deadline. Since they are all over the world their location and completion date will vary. So you helped me fix that by removing the “required” class from the Create an Event form. But now participants still cannot fill in the location and date because it is locked on the “Add My Results” form.

Solution: Unlock the “Location” and “Date” fields of the “Add my Results” form so users can edit it freely.

All I wanted was more flexibility on the form fields when creating an event so that the user can fill it out the date and location instead of me forcing and restricting it.

I can create the event without the date and location being required (thank you for the solution) but now when an athlete goes in to enter their times, the location and date fields are empty and locked and they cannot enter their location or date.

I assume I need to unlock those fields on the user’s form when they enter their time too? Is that a different location than wp-athletics-functions.php page?

Yes, as admin I want to create an event without a location or date. Then the athlete can go in and add that information when they enter their finish times. Right now I can create the event without the date and location but when an athlete goes in to enter their times the location and date fields are empty and locked and they cannot enter data either. I assume I need to unlock those fields on the form they get when they enter their time too? Is that a different location than wp-athletics-functions.php page?

Thanks for the steps, Conor. Unfortunately removing the “add-result-required” class still doesn’t allow the user to add data to those fields later when they enter their results.

Thanks for the link. It says to never skip two. Ugh, I have to do this more than once to get to 4.1.1? ??

Thank you WPyogi! Everything is backed up. I will be skipping a few versions. Are there any known issues with going from 3.9.3 straight to 4.1.1?

Conor, Is there a way to make certain form fields not required when creating an event but required when a user enters their time? If you could just tell me what file to look at or piece of code to alter that would be great.

I would like a way to be able to optimize the thumbnails. Right now the only option given is to optimize the main photo. When running my site through Google Page Speed Report it ranks me very low on optimized images. When I view the images in question they are all the images located in the thumbnail folder. So right now I have to optimize them manually with another third party tool on my desktop and re-upload them. By manually optimizing the thumbnails I went from a score of 74 to 84. NextGEN Gallery just needs to optimize the thumbnails too.

I need this plugin to not force date and location fields in the “Create a new event” form. Ideally for me the only required fields when creating an event should be Event Name and Distance. As a workaround I make the event date the last day of the year.

How can I make the Location and Date fields not required in the “Create an Event” form? At a minimum the date field.
