You could do it once from scratch to learn, but after that one experience, it doesn’t make much sense to build themes from scratch. There are so many good starter themes maintained by good developers that you are just wasting time reinventing the wheel. Check out Foundation and Sage starter theme. Have used both of them for multiple projects. Latest one being the [link redacted] which is an casino affiliate site I build on top of a starter theme.

Based on the html code snippet that you provided you only want to get url. Use get_the_post_thumbnail_url instead of the get_the_post_thumbnail that you’re now using. This will give you only the url to the image.

You can totally ignore this as to change it to something else is totally waste of time. It wont improve your rankings. I see that you use a WooCommerce on your site so this link just adds the product to the cart and it is most likely using AJAX anyways.
