In reply to: Blank pages help!Hm… Could you post your .htaccess file?

In reply to: Blank pages help!First thing to try is to rename your plugins folder to see if one is causing problems.
If that doesn’t work, can you get into your dashboard? Any other errors? Blog address?

In reply to: WP 2.8 can’t write to .htaccess (which IS writable)I have a feeling it’s due to file ownership, but could you run the following on your server for both files: (note: I’m assuming you have SSH access)
ls -al .htaccess
Compare them and see if the owner is different.

In reply to: Help with InstallSounds like you accidentally uploaded the files in Binary instead of ASCII. There should be an option in your FTP program to switch it.

In reply to: Not to beat a dead horseFirst thing to try anytime you have weird issues like this is to rename the plugins folder.
If that didn’t work, did you upgrade or fresh install?

In reply to: Upgrade ErrorFirst thing I normally do is rename the plugins folder to see if that fixes it.
If your backend is still functional, see is switching themes to Classic corrects the problem.
Also, is the wp-blog-header file in the root folder?

In reply to: Google XML Sitemaps – arne cant load original site pagesAlan,
I just noticed something (this is an edit). Are you attempting to use the Google Sitemap Plugin and getting an error?
If so, what is the error? I ran into a quick error with this due to permissions. I ended up needing to create the sitemap.xml and gz files manually….

In reply to: Installed 2.7.1 – photos do not upload!!Either change the settings to dump everything into wp-content/uploads (with 777 permissions) or you may have to create the sub-folders it wants to create manually. I had one picky install where I had to create the folders for it manually. Ended up just telling it to use the uploads dir.
Typically, this is due to the permissions that your “user” account runs on the web server – nothing to do with wordpress. This account is typically your FTP username. Some companies set these user accounts with little permissions on the server, sometimes it causes problems.

In reply to: How to increase posts thumbnail in aaras theme home page ?Typically, this is a setting in WordPress, not a theme.
Log in as Admin, click Settings then Reading. If “Blog pages show at most” is set to 4, update it to 10.
If it’s set to 10, or another number, your theme just may be causing the problem. If that is the case, contact the theme author.

In reply to: P2 options?!!!Exactly what are you clicking on and what does it do? Does the page refresh and not give you the options that should be there? Does it go to a blank page?

In reply to: Problem with “older” “newer” links…It’s in the address:
https://www.multidyne.com/blog/Blog/index.php/page/3/
https://www.multidyne.com/blog/page/3/Check the backend settings for the extra Blog (cap B is the one causing your problem).

In reply to: Unable to installSam, you’re really busy today ??
I agree with Sam. Either that or you’re connection is causing problems or stalling/timing out too much. You can attempt to upload 1 folder at a time then upload all the root files at once.
But mostly, I agree with sam.

In reply to: Can’t upload imagesCheck out this WordPress Codex page. For uploading images. There is a link about file permissions there. Read through it so you understand how they work. You’ll then need to update the permissions on the wp-content/uploads directory to 755.

In reply to: Can’t upload imagesTry going directly to the file in your address bar to see if it actually uploaded. Several of my past installs needed permissions changes in order for this feature to work properly. Sometimes it worked out of the box, others it just didn’t.
