Thanks for replying. I’m not using anything, it’s already in WP in settings – Reading. There’s no on or off button – it just gives you the text box to write what you want to email to followers! Cannot work out how to switch off. Maybe I should use a different plugin for email which will have a setting?

my site is touristmemoirs.com . All the widgets on the front page are on the post pages and on other pages. For example I don’t want the ‘About’ widget on posts.
I also wanted a static front page but couldn’t quite get the widgets to be placed in the right places so have opted for the blog layout for now.
Could you explain how I can edit the CSS? thank you!!

Thanks for the suggestion, it didn’t really work as the theme I have automatically features every new post by default.
I just want a separate section I suppose on my site which doesn’t appear on the homepage which I can post to, but also be able to post on the rest of the site.

It was a plug in called ‘Frontpage category filler’ that was the culprit. As soon as it was deactivated my galleries reappeared! I would never have thought it would have anything to do with that!

Ok before I do that, I realised I was using the Jetpack Tiled Galleries plug in. Even by deactivating that it hasn’t made any difference. The Photos are all there in the edit but jsut not displaying.I wrote a new post to see if this happens for new posts it still will not display a gallery.
Will do what you suggested now.

The gallery is there in ‘edit post’ in the visual editor tab, yes. So strange!!
