thanks for the reply, but as you can check on my the link I added in my original message, this does not work on the shop/archive page. It leaves it blank/not clicable/variation image is not shown.

You made the form wrong. You can’t see replies, cause you have multiple fileds with THE SAME LABEL. All labels must be different.
