The problem is now solved, it was an misconfiguration in combination with the contact form.
Hello Matthias,
I have good news! The situation turned out to be a misunderstanding, because the spam messages did not come via the form or were already older.
So the previous deposit of “forminator_submit_form_custom-forms” in the actions worked great. So it was a false alarm!
Thanks again for your great support, especially since you are currently on vacation, have a good time!
Ciao
JürgenThanks for your reply, Matthias!
Yes, I’m using the explicit mode. I’ve watched your videos again and also tried the analyse box. I must admin it’s very confusing for me to see all the entrys there. I have sent a mail again and then looked into this list and added a second action line (“forminator_nonce”).
Then, in the pattern field, I have added a field that’s unique to Forminator (like the “_wpcf7” for CF7), it’s this id: {“form_id”:null}
There are a lot of other fields but you said the less fields I use, the better it is:- forminator_nonce
- _wp_http_referer
- page_id
- form_type
- current_url
To your last question: I have written to the customer that he should forward me spam mails, but have not yet received a reply. Hopefully I will get some to check for “forminator_submit_form_custom-forms”.
Perhaps a stupid question, but you also mention “Forminator” in your example description of the action field (“forminator_submit_form_custom-forms”). Couldn’t you just name the pattern that you use in addition or have you left it blank?
Ciao
JürgenThanks for your reply, Matthias,
I made a mistake while in analysis mode. I have now run this again and got the same pattern as you posted. Now the sent messages are saved correctly and can be seen in the dashboard. Thanks again, really appreciate it!
Ciao Juergen
Hi,
I have email replied three times with all the data that I had. I assumed that you had tested my configuration internally, as this is standard practice when you make changes to the code. That’s why I didn’t deliberately try a restore on my live site again.
Now where I had to restore my site, the same errors occur as already described here. I can’t provide any more data than back then. You can see the character set of the database in a post above. I don’t mean you any harm and my amended bad review is certainly based on the fact that I was annoyed that the restore didn’t work. I’m sorry, but I’ve lost trust for the time being.
After trying a restore today, I realised that the problems are still there, even 2 months after I had already sent you the credentials to my site, the log data and the backup file.
Parts of the website are still being deleted and umlauts are still being displayed incorrectly. This problem does not exist with Duplicator. I will switch back to it.- This reply was modified 10 months ago by jugibur.
Thanks Sybre or your effort! It’s a shame that the PolyLang developers got in the way, but it’s great that you were able to fix it anyway!
When I restore, I can see the log being written. When the restore is finished and I click on the “Log” link, it says that the log was not found.
However, I can view the log for a backup (on the live site).
PS: I tried again while writing this and did a quick “select all” and copied it before closing the log tab so I can send you what I caught right away.
Hi, I have now done the following steps:
- Updating WPvivid local and remote
- Making backup from my live server
- Restore backup local -> all works fine
- Making a backup local
- Restore the backup on my live site
-> All characters are now correct
-> All pages have their correct titles
-> but my Bricks Builder content is all deleted!
The content of Gutenberg is already there.
As I can see in the database, Bricks Builder doesn’t use it’s own tables so I wonder why this could be happened.
What also happens after each start of the two restores:
WPvivid says the file is corrupted, so I tried it again, then it works.
Wonder why this happened, because the download of the file (only db) was small and quickly finished.EDIT: Found out, that not all Bricks pages are deleted, but two or three.

Thanks for your explanations, Sybre!
In addition, here is the error message from Google PageSpeed Insights (translated to en):
?Document does not contain a valid rel=canonical element.
Points to the root URL (the start page) of the domain instead of an identical content page.“
Does this mean that the cannonical url generated by TSF should point to the actual start page, in my case with /de at the end?
And do I understand correctly that the canonical url of TSF in principle is only necessary if there are two pages with basically the same content? Even if they are written in two languages?
Thanks!
Of course! Here is the header code of the site with the urls incuded (first three are from PolyLang):
<link rel="alternate" href="https://albatros-international.eu/de/" hreflang="de" /> <link rel="alternate" href="https://albatros-international.eu/en/" hreflang="en" /> <link rel="alternate" href="https://albatros-international.eu/de/" hreflang="x-default" /> <!-- The SEO Framework by Sybre Waaijer --> <link rel="canonical" href="https://albatros-international.eu/" />
In the TSF settings these three checkboxes are *not* check marked:
Add
rel
link tags to posts and pages?
Addrel
link tags to archives?
Addrel
link tags to the homepage?I have purged the complete cache of the LiteSpeed plugin multiple times.

Hi Sybre,
yes, I have selected a static page as the start page and PolyLang creates the necessary canonical URLs itself. That’s why I wanted to be able to completely disable this functionality in TSF.
Thanks for the update!Thank you, I have written an e-mail via the support form.
Thank you Laura for your quick reply, I will give it a try!
Best regards,
