In reply to: RSS feed errors because of image formattingMy goodness.. the child themes sound more complicated than they used to! Is there a simple child theme plugin that will allow me to edit the functions.php but not allow me to get into too much trouble?
Thanks in advance.

In reply to: RSS feed errors because of image formattingOh, thank you; is that in the customizer? (appearance->customizer>activello options>other? (there’s a box for adding custom CSS, is that where I would add that?)) .. I don’t see a separate Editor within Appearance other than that.
I’ll look into child themes now.

In reply to: RSS feed errors because of image formattingThank you; what will that do to image sizing? And how do I do that? Is that something I have to do via ftp?
(Is it the theme? Should I look for a different spare & simple theme that might not conflict with the image uploader/resizer and allow me to use captions and links?)

In reply to: How can I disable two-factor authentication? It worked fine for a few months, but the demand for two-factor authentication is back again. My blog is at wildwoodsoap.com/blog/
I have deactivated all plugins. Is it really possible for a deactivated plugin to do this, or has wordpress been hacked somehow?

In reply to: How can I disable two-factor authentication? In fact, it’s now trying to make me log in when I try to view my blog from another computer!
Supposing I find which remaining plugin is the trash that is doing this, where can I go to warn other wp users NOT to install it?

In reply to: How can I disable two-factor authentication? This is NOT resolved, it is happening again, and I have not re-installed the plugins I deleted. It’s so bad it is now trying to keep me from viewing my website proper (which has NO login!).
Can someone help me with this?

In reply to: How can I disable two-factor authentication?..I got frustrated and deleted a bunch of plugins randomly, again, and then deleted cookies and cache and now can get both out, and in, to my dashboard.
I wonder if it was a corrupted session cookie? A combination of plugins that had gone bad? At any rate, now I have access and the tools to fix this if it happens again.

In reply to: How can I disable two-factor authentication?I tried deactivating all plugins, and it won’t let me log out.. These are all plugins I downloaded from WP, and have not modified in any way.

In reply to: How can I disable two-factor authentication? Now it won’t let me log out! Says I am denied access to logging out.

In reply to: How can I disable two-factor authentication? That seems to be an incomplete answer; that is, I can either have plugins, or not have the two-factor login demand, but not both.
(For future readers with this problem, if you stay logged in to your control panel, and rename the plugins file to plugins after you are logged in, your plugins come back, and you can go through them manually in an effort to find out which one is causing the problem.)
Though in my case it appears that having ANY plugin causes it.
Is there a way to both have plugins and not the two factor authentication thing?
