Thank you esmi — the only thing I have not tried is re-installing a new wordpress via ftp — this is a business site but because I have deadlines needed to be completed today I will attempt this last step tomorrow with a clearer head – I will let you know the results – chrishuovinen, if I can come up with a solution I will let you know – this is extremely frustrating but at the same time I think it may have happened by something very simple that I didn’t catch – thank you all –
