In reply to: Did not back up my site – can I get a copy from wordpressI should add that most plugins only back up the database. If you have modified files, installed plugins, etc you will still need to backup source files on your own.

In reply to: Did not back up my site – can I get a copy from wordpressHello,
The WordPress software does not automatically backup for you if you are using a self-hosted solution. You can use various plugins such as this one to help in the future.
Your host may have a backup solution in place so I would contact them and see.
Thanks,

In reply to: Lost Launch.php – site not working now!Hi,
I am assuming you are using Thesis and this is where Launch.php is coming from. WordPress themes by default do not have a launch.php file.
Thesis is not open source like the rest of WordPress so we cannot actually post the source code of launch.php for you. If you are indeed using Thesis and have purchased it you should have been given access to support forums.
Let me know if I’m incorrect or if you need more help.
Thanks,

Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Installation Step 2 -3 HELP!Hi,
You are opening the file off of your own computer. Look at the address bar in the screen shot. C:/Documents and Settings/ and so forth.
You need to upload the WordPress installation to your Dreamhost hosting and run the install by pointing your browser to that file.
To make it easier for you have a look at the following video:
It will walk you through setting up WordPress with dreamhost.
Let me know if you need any more help,

In reply to: Blog all screwed upHi Al,
Did this just happen after a certain plugin? Do you know which one it is?
If you physically remove the plugin file (from wp-content/plugins) the plugin should deactivate. If you don’t know which one did it you may have to de-activate all of them.
Let me know if you need some more help,
Thanks,
Justin

In reply to: [Plugin: Search API] Seach doesn’t display resultsHi,
I’m confused because you mention that you want to use the default search with WordPress. Do you mean the “MySQL” plugin?
Can you deactivate and reactivate the MySQL plugin? Perhaps the index did not get built.
Thanks,
Justin
It depends.
The Google plugin does contain an admin control panel for editing a few of the required settings.
The MySQL plugin does not as it wasn’t part of the original scope of the GSoC project. More customization is slated for a later release :).

In reply to: [Plugin: Search API] Search multiple blogs? No, Right now the plugin only searches the posts, comments and pages data for the blog the plugin is currently installed for.
This may be a cool search plugin to create though in the future.
Did you uninstall the plugin and reinstall from scratch? (Deactivate the plugins and click delete under search api then reupload and activate)
Something may have not installed during the fatal error.
Hi,
I’ve had this reported by one other user. (the fatal error part) I’ve been unable to reproduce it this far.
Could you answer the following questions in the similar bug report?
https://code.google.com/p/wpsearchapi/issues/detail?id=5
Can you give me the exact versions of PHP, MySQL, WordPress etc?
Can you give me the exact steps?
ie:1) Uploaded search/ directory
2) Activated Search API (which then activated MySQL)Have you had a previous version installed?
Are you installing this on the latest version? Thanks for taking the time to post about this. Hopefully I can have a fix to you soon.
