In reply to: Would Like to See Sites using the FreshNews Theme.Hello!
Great Questions!
YES – your hosting is separate from buying a premium theme. It’s actually better that way because you have complete control over your own domain.
Buying your own domain is always a great idea!
Yes – the widgets and ability to add posts and pages are all normal in any theme I’ve seen.
Yes that’s the great thing about getting a premium domain over a free one. They have features that let you easily change the colors and such. I think I paid about $70 for that theme and it was easily worth every penny.
I made all 3 of those websites I listed using that same theme… and the support I’ve gotten for it has been really good as well.
FlamingPixels is an interesting name. I’m just curious are you into design or art or something?
I just checked – here’s a link directly to the Fresh News Theme. https://bit.ly/oNEqGo – I think it was about $70 when I got it and if I recall it came with 2 other themes.
If you have any more questions – you can reach me through my website. https://familybusinesstips.com
I also do a lot of posts there on WordPress blogging with tons of content already there.

In reply to: How do I get rid of the sidebar blogroll links, and other widgets?Eric,
It could be your theme.
I think you are probably correct in that your theme is defaulting to automatically loading those widgets by default. There may be a way to tell your theme to stop doing that, but I couldn’t say without knowing your theme.
Are you using the default theme that came with WordPress?
What’s your site?To update your theme you click on “Appearence” and then “Themes”.
Up top you’ll see a tab that reads “Install Themes”.Once you are there you can ‘search’ for a new free theme. After you find one you like, you click ‘install’ and then after it installs, you should get an option to ‘activate’ your new theme.

In reply to: How do I get rid of the sidebar blogroll links, and other widgets? In WordPress you edit your widgets by clicking on
“Appearence” and then clicking “Widgets”On the widgets page you should see a section with various “SIDEBARS”.
Every theme is a little different so I might have more or less sidebars then you. They may all have different labels and some may not say the word “Sidebar”… you may have that are labled “Footer”…
The point is all of those things are Sidebars. Just open each one and look to see what’s in them.
The blogroll widget is usally inside one of your sidebars and is labled “Links”.
All you have to do to get rid of it is drag it out of the side bar and drop it just about anywhere that isn’t a sidebar.
