Still not sure. The link to the page is in the OP. The Areas of Practice are also listed in the FOOTER and need to be disabled as well. At a loss..

Hi and thanks for the reply. The theme name is Law Swift by Shinetheme but it appears to be discontinued – I went to look for the support forum and the theme is no longer even listed. The Practice Areas (see link above) do not link to PAGES or POSTS, at least when I check the sidebar. The Sidebar has a separate category for PRACTICE.

It is a wordpress theme.

ThemeXLab’s Baratheon theme has not been upgraded for use with WordPress 4.5 and they have not even responded to my request for a fix in order to upgrade. I bought the upgraded slider and installed it. It is definitely the theme and now I am having to run the site in WP 4.2 so frustrating!

It is the free version of REVOLUTION SLIDER that came with the Baratheon theme that is not auto updated via WP. Everything works with WP 4.2 but does not when updraged to 4.5 I noticed that REVOLUTION SLIDER needs to me manually updated and I am not sure how that is done. I emailed the Theme creators and have not heard back.

when I restore an older version of the site, the content loads for a few minutes and then goes away again. I am at a loss

Fixed! In case anyone runs into this problem.

In the visual editor where the link is placed, there were spaces at the end of the link followd by the typical ” make sure to erase the spaces before the ”

It’s weird. In my main menu, the links take me to the correct page

https://mywebsite.com/frontpage/what-to-expect/

but when i click on the link in a different part of the website, it goes to

https://mywebsite.com/frontpage/what-to-expect/%E2%80%8E

Thanks WPyogi! I have changed the functions file before but never had any luck and now it seems to be working! Now on to change all the permalinks!

Thanks – I successfully moved the old WP to the new host and changed the name. However, I cannot get into the wp-admin.

I went through the email reset, the phpmyadmin reset and finally the emergency.php reset – still not working. I notice that when i press enter it tries to go back to the old location of the wp site – any ideas?

Here is what I can see from the file. However, I did a fresh install of WP on my host and have begun the process of starting over. I did publish the entire old site to a local folder and export the XML file for the old site – just not sure if that will help or not?????

It is not the .htaccess file from the old site. I cannot find that at all

I made sure to take all the WP files off as a backup. The .htaccess is in there, yes

I messed around with the site url and the WP url under General Settings.

Called my host but the backup they had was way too old. I looked to see what was happening in the DB and saw that the terminusinvestment.com/terminusinvestment was now pointing to just terminusinvestment.com

I went in and copied the setting from the correct DB and did a clean install but it is all still messed up.

After spending a whole day trying, I am at a loss and thinking I may just have to start all over.

I do have the exported XML file and all the files from the correct site, but not sure how to use those to get back up.

I have exhausted all avenues and really dread the thought of rebuilding the entire site from scratch. I am sure I have overlooked something.

Is there a step by step guide to doing a fresh install and importing the XML file along with the WP files from the defunct site?
