Apologies I didn’t see this sooner. Hmm, I’m guessing activation worked but you didn’t see anything on the frontend? If you can provide more information I can adjust my help accordingly, but assuming I am correct, then your next step is to install the shortcode [idbsupporttickets] in a page, name the page and publish it, and next set that as the Main Page at wp-admin > IDB Support Tickets > Settings > General > Main Page >

That’s definitely not possible yet, but I am about to introduce a new permissions system, that could perhaps be extended to function in the way you need. I think I kind of get what you’re saying, like a dropdown list of admin’s, and if you select an admin then the ticket’s they are on appear? Or am I off with my understanding? Thank you!

Merci!

Justin, thank you for the specific and valuable feedback. I removed the depreciated $wpdb->escape() calls. This notice would only cause issue on testing servers, and even on mine the notice did not stop the plugin from functioning correctly. However, you are correct that in some debugging situations those notices can cause the ajax calls to totally fail. Easy fix though for an easy problem. Another user pointed out another minor display issue as well. Both issue are patched in beta version 0.9.13 available now. Thank you for your feedback.

Thank you for the support, it is highly appreciated.

I’ll look into the due date thing and see how feasible it is (actually, there’s been database fields since 2011 in there for due dates, but never fully implemented.)

Version 5.x will allow assignment of an agent to a department, so that they can only see and modify that department’s tickets. The new permissions system is in the works and should hit beta status soon.

    Thanks again!

Thanks for trying out my beta software. I can close and edit bugs just fine, just click on an issues status and change it to closed. Edit an issue? Just click on it. It’s all real time ajax editable, just click and edit, then save. Maybe you have a javascript conflict or something preventing you from accessing those features, but instead of going straight to a 1 star review how about you instead help me work out what your issues are on the support forum so that this software can get better? Thank you.

Hi there. I am happy to help but I don’t understand exactly what or where your issue is. Can you post a screenshot of your issue? That would help me to resolve it for a lot quicker. Thanks!

Turn on advanced settings wp-admin > Support Tickets > Settings > General > Show Advanced Settings? > then set to true then click “Update Settings

Now goto wp-admin > Support Tickets > Settings > Email > Override WordPress Email Sent “Name” & “From” > and set it to true. Then fill out the form below it for Override Name Sent From with the name you want.

By the way, this is a global WordPress thing, so this affects all outgoing email. Other plugins which change this setting may conflict with this setting.

    Are you using SSL?

Yeah, it’s making sure no one hacks your database using the form, so it’s escaping out (\) any characters that could make your database vulnerable to SQL injection. I’ll look into making this less obvious so as not to look as unprofessional as it currently does. Thanks!

I can custom code any feature, such as “Save to PDF” or “Print Ticket” functionality directly. I don’t know when version 5 will be done, but I can bump custom features to the top of my todo list for modest compensation. Contact me here to work out the details: https://indiedevbundle.com/contact/

Thanks for the question. The feature will be implemented sometime before version 5 as it gets closer. My best guess based off of everything going on right now is late March/early April, although it can always get done faster or get delayed longer depending on how real life goes. For time sensitive projects, I can generally bump something to the top of my todo list if the price is right. Thanks again!

Please try 4.9.39 which I believe addresses your email issue (4.9.38 came out only minutes before and fixes the timezone issue, so you can switch it back to your previous correct settings.)

Interesting. So Paris caused the issue, but you do not have the issue when set to London? I’ve been reading a lot about timezone coding problems, and it seems that timezones in general are a disorganized mess as a whole, with so many local and regional variances and different overlapping systems, that it is not reliable at all. Because of this, it seems prudent of me to modify the ticketing system so that it no longer needs to use time to determine who posted last on a ticket. That way, we can sidestep this whole issue for you and anyone else in the future who uses the software. Thanks for your help. I am looking at the email system now and will get back to you soon.

Good to know. What timezone were you trying to use previously that caused the issue? I’d like to know so I can work out a better solution that allows you to use your correct timezone without the issue you were experiencing.

I’m looking into your email issue. Thanks again.
