In reply to: XHTML Validation thoughtsHowever… a few problems remain with the pannings in the menu. Also: text characters tend to excede the menu, etc. And probably a few more. However, I take it that not so many people use Mozilla so I guess it does’nt really matter. (?)

In reply to: XHTML Validation thoughtsNot sure about what exactly the validation garantees. I have a WP site which validates, though in Modzilla the credit bar appears in the middle of the “content”. Go figure.

In reply to: drop capsThanks guys. Seems to work fine with the <span> thing. I used the tutorial Cena refered to. Although not automated, the process is rather unpainful. I will try dchait’s solution at a later time. But now I am into another kind of detais, so here’s another question:
suppose I want to use that drop cap in the <storytitle>, and place the <storytitle> on the same line as the post’s first line…? ??

In reply to: questions of strategy concerning blog transfersThanks for the tip, Uberwald. I thought of it but for a few reasons I’m not sure that it’s the best way to go.
First, there’s this thing about the search feature: presumably the engine would’nt be able to search in the old files if they’re not integrated, so… Second, what about the archives? Also, I’m wondering whether search engines would be able to scan the whole thing. So, I don’t know…

In reply to: image not appearingwell, now it’s worsening. I can no longer upload. Even though WP says that the upload has succeeded, the file is not in the folder (images), nor anywhere else. The folder itself is 766. Also, after the upload what WP gives me to paste is this path: <img src=”https://galerie.carnetsdetoile.ca//images/filename.jpg” alt=”” />
Does that sound right?
Guess I have a lot of homeworks to do…

In reply to: image not appearing…hmm… not sure I understand this mod_rewrite thing. Thanks, anyway. ??

In reply to: image not appearingPehaps I should have been more precise: I have created a folder named “images” in the main directory (i.e. /public_html/galerie/images) in which I upload my images. Then I “add the code” to the post and publish it. But when I click “view site” I only get the alternate text for a missing image, as though WP could’nt find it.
Am I missing something here?
Thanks,

In reply to: image not appearingsorry again, I’m not speaking about this forum but about a newly installed blog that I’m trying to turn into some sort of a gallery…

In reply to: 3 columns layoutSlightly passed the relatively trivial task… Looks a little less messy. Succeeded in displaying a 3 col layout by up-loading all 4 css files and by adding the matching lines in the index. Thanks A LOT. And I mean it! JP :-):-)
