In reply to: WordPress RecommendationsThanks Steven. To be honest I’m finding WP very confusing. There are so many editing pages…having just made changes to the homepage of a theme I installed, saved and viewed them, the image I expanded in size doesn’t resize in the published version (which actually published through the Save button, not the Publish button (which I camn’t find anyway).
I’ve created many sites over a 12 year period using the Weebly, where all the editing tools are on one page. WP seems very complicated in comparison, with functions spread over several pages. For example, with Weebly I created a 350+ page trilingual website with video, galleries, slideshows, etc, in just 4 days. I’ve been on WP today for 10 hrs and can’t figure out how to create a single page :\
Oh well, I’ll quit moaning. Thanks for your assistance.

In reply to: WordPress RecommendationsActually, I think the themes visible have been placed there by SiteGround, the company that hosts my site.

In reply to: Gravatar if I change my forum email addressSo gravatar and wordpress.com are the same company? Is there not a forum that is run by WP.org instead of WP.com then?

In reply to: WordPress RecommendationsThanks for your reply, George.
So, the host company I use (SiteGround) have access to the WP dashboard I use? (Because this is where the recommended themes are shown, after I select Themes under the Appearance category from the menu in the left hand tool bar.)
I was under the impression that Siteground would host my website, but thought that the WP site builder was a totally different entity, and that I would have sole control over it.
The recommended themes are not on the SiteGround website, but on the WP dashboard.
