I cannot help but I am having the same issue so I hope someone can. I took over editing a site that someone else built on WP and I cannot access the dashboard or admin page–I keep getting a 404 page not found error. The site is loading fine. The url is https://carmoongroup.com but when I try /wp-admin or wordpess/wp-admin I get the sane error.

I looked at the source code and from what I can see the site is definitely built on a wp theme named “strata” but I can’t find that in the showcase either. Any ideas about what I can do?

I cannot access my WP home page either..First time this has ever happened and I have no idea what’s wrong. All of my other pages are loading fine but my site URL goes to a 404 error. I could use some help/

Glad to know I’m not the only one having problems with this..I forgot about the wp update; that’s most likely the problem, but it’s annoying nevertheless. All of my widgets are showing up everywhere no matter what I do with this plugin. Can anyone recommend something else?

Look at your WP dashboard under appearance; themes. There is probably a link to an options area where you can select your templates..from there you should be able to choose what template you want to use for your front page and other pages as well..I have not used this particular theme, but in any theme with as many options as this one has there is ALWAYS a control panel of some kind. You just need to look for it. And don’t panic. You’ll figure it out. I’m a complete novice and I’ve gotten through Suffusion without pulling my hair out.

I am far from an expert on this, but are you editing in HTML mode? Any shortcode that I’ve ever used in WP has only worked when I entered it in HTML then published the page. Once it’s embedded that way it seems to be fine to go back to Visual mode for adding anything else you want

Thanks for the info. I’ve been on vacation for three weeks but before leaving I thought I had this fixed. Iremoved all the malicious code, then installed a new antivirus application that is touted as being very good at removing malware. (I should mention here that my system was infected with a rogue security software app for Windows shortly before this happened with my site. The antivirus software I purchased-PC Tools Spyware Doctor-removed this very quickly and I had not had any problems with it until this happened. I don’t know if they are connected, but PC Tools says all infected files are quarantined or removed, so I don’t see how.
In any event I came home last week, all seemed fine and then tonight I logged in to my site and it’s back. I’m going to try going through the above suggestions again, but I’m still very interested in hearing from anyone who has recently experienced this kind of thing and gotten rid of it for good.
Will let you know how this is going…

This reply won’t be a whole lot of help, because I am also looking for the answer to this for a slightly different issue, but I know that to display anything in one page and not another, or in just some pages, but not others you need to modify the CSS files using the page #’s, but I am not sure how to do it.

I know that I saw this discussed in the Codex somewhere. If anyone knows exactly how to do this or where to find the answer, please reply.

I’ll keep looking and if I get the answer before someone else sends it I’ll let you know.
