In reply to: [Add Link to Facebook] Can't get it to workAddeddum–I went back and did it again. This time I tried adding different permissions, since the ones the plugin instructions say to request in Status and Reveiw are not even there. I added what was and got a long song and dance from FB saying I needed to include about five more items, including a short and long description, a profile and privacy policy URL This is insane. All I want to do link to my Facebook page.

In reply to: SLOW loading of both back and front ends. Thanks for the tip, Bet. I ran the first one and my plugins are only taking .933 seconds to load, to that’s not it. I am beginning to think it is a hosting issue combined with a very bad Internet connection. I am switching Internet providers this week (ditching Comcast’s new Xfinity–which is so unreliable it might as well be dial-up– for Uverse.) Hoping for a little bit of help there. If that doesn’t work and no one else has any suggestions I guess I’ll switch hosts and see.

In reply to: Formatting Problem when pasting from WordDitto above. It is almost impossible to paste directly from MS Word to any Internet UI without losing your formatting. Just paste into a plain text editor first and all will work out fine.

In reply to: [Nirvana] Crazy behavior on presentation pageApologies for not responding: I have been tied up with a project and haven’t had a second to work on this. However, I had this issue with a different theme that I was working with last month and found out from the developer that allowing Jetpack’s “mobile theme” was interfering with the functionality on that theme. So, on the outside chance that this was the problem with Nirvana I disabled the Jetpack mobile theme on this site and it fixed all of the issues
Thanks for getting back to me. I suggest that Caleb and anyone else who uses Jetpack to try this as well. It’s a great multi-function plugin but it can do some strange things if you’re not selective about what you use.
Hi, James,
I will be happy to review it again. I am in the process of updating my site and when I’m done (I thought I would be by now but you know how that goes!!) I will be happy to give you my input. I can see with just a cursory glance that you have made some changes, so give me a chance to set it all up properly and I’ll rate it again.
Thanks much for taking the feedback and using it constructively. I’ll get back with you here ASAP.
Take care,
Kathie.David–So sorry not to get back to you. I have experienced no issues since trying the fixes you suggested last month. It’s been a crazy couple of months…fire in my apt. building, moving, illness and travel all rolled into one fun time!! All is good for now. I will let you know immediately if the problems recur.
Thanks much!

In reply to: [Customizr] Change background color to 3 circles (feature pages)Although his reply is quite old I am responding to @ esmi Forum Moderator here. It is my understanding that Customizr provides the Custom CSS area in the framework for us to add custom CSS. Is this not the case? I did not think it was necessary to create a child theme for one or two minor changes to the CSS (although I must admit the changes I’m trying aren’t working anyway, but this is more of a philosophical question than a direct reply. )
Sorry about the delay in replying; I did not see the email until last night. In my case it is not just the text widgets; it was the entire “primary” sidebar, which I enable on pages that don’t use one of the custom sidebars created using the plugin. The footer widget containing another plugin also disappears. Again-the custom menus are fine.
I will try the debugging suggestion later today and let you know how it goes.
This appears to be a common problem over the past few weeks..Never an issue before. WHAT is going on, guys?? I will have no choice but to switch to another plugin if this isn’t resolved. I cannot keep rebuilding my sidebars every two days.
Same thing happened to me –I have been using the plugin for a long time with no issues and today my primary sidebar and a few others are gone–just vanished from the site AND the widgets that were installed on those sidebars are missing as well. It seems as if this issue was never resolved 2 weeks ago. Maybe you can revisit it again?

In reply to: Cannot access wp-admin or dashboardQuick thanks to Abraham Rijo for all the help. GoDaddy was able to locate the faulty plugin security plugin and disable it so and I can now access the site. What an ordeal.

In reply to: Cannot access wp-admin or dashboardI’ve had a bad week so this issue wound up on the back burner. I renamed the plugins folder but that didn’t change anything. File manager on Go Daddy says the wp-admin folder is deprecated and go to /wp-includes/wp-admin.php but that comes up a 404 error too. The files are there..I just can’t get to the back end to edit them. I guess I’m going to ask Go Daddy for help..
Thank you for trying. If you think of anything else please let me know. Go Daddy is notorious for not offering the best support.

In reply to: Cannot access wp-admin or dashboardI can’t get into the plugins folder either.
https://carmoongroup/wordpress/ takes me to a test page but I can’t access any of the links there.
Any other workarounds or suggestions? I hate to have to start all over again but it looks like I may have no choice.
