I figured my issue out. It was one of my plugins (CollabPress) which was causing the issue. Start deactivating your recently installed plugins one by one and checking the menu. I read that it’s a JQuery conflict so maybe try any plugins that you know use JQuery.
I would check out the Widget Logic plug-in. I haven’t used it yet, but it sounds like what you are looking for. I’m actually going to install it on my site now and give it a whirl. Sounds useful!
