I was having the same issue. Took me a while but I found that I could go into my personal Facebook profile, then to settings, and then to Business Integrations on the left sidebar. I chose WordPress from the ‘Active Business Integrations’ and from there I was able to edit which pages that I manage that I wanted to give access to WordPress.

In Events>Settings I went to the Pages tab and opened the Permalink Slugs accordion tab. removed the forward slash at the end of the ‘events’ in the Event Categories input.
