In reply to: [PPWP - Password Protect Pages] password protect 1 page onlyWill this plugin solve the following problem?
Using the built-in WordPress password protect functionality once logged in, the user will not be prompted to re-enter the password if they navigate away from the page, or if they return to the page within 10 days. I believe this is because WordPress stores the password as a cookie. By default, this cookie will expire 10 days after it is created. I found a way to set the cookie expiration time to 0 – which will expire the cooking when the user closes the browser.
However, I want the user to be prompted to enter the password if they navigate away from the page, or close the page.
Thanks for listening.

In reply to: [NextScripts: Social Networks Auto-Poster] Warning after WordPress update.Same issue here.
Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, function ‘nxs_snap_pointer_admin_enqueue_scripts’ not found or invalid function name in /home/xxxx/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php on line 298
I should have kept a backup of the previous version :-/

In reply to: [WP Super Cache] WP Super Cache WordPress 4.7 compatibleAny update on this?
Further to this – here’s a link to a site that is running on the same server, with permalinks set to /%postname%/ … and it’s working.
Click on any links in the top navigation menu – notice the links are not Default wordpress style.
So that proves mod_rewrite is loaded and working.
@aesthetic – the problem is that I don’t want to use the Default permalinks – I want friendly URLs – i.e., permalinks set to postname ??
@aliampirzada – I’ve already tried those things described in that link. Thanks anyway.
To recap – the only thing that has changed since the sites were working with permalinks set tp /%postname%/ is that Apache was restarted.
Since the restart, any links requiring mod_rewrite are not working – and my sysadmin assures me mod_rewrite is running.
Hi aesthetic
Here’s one of them:
I’ve set all of them back to default permalinks
Thanks for your help.

In reply to: [Author Post Ratings] Front Page Stars & increase in number of starsI’m just writing to express interest in this feature too.
Especially 1/2 stars **
I wanted to use this to replace another similar plugin (no longer in development) but need the 1/2 star feature.
Here’s hoping you find yourself with time ??

In reply to: [Smart YouTube PRO] Not responsive in mobilesI’d also be keen to see an answer to this.
It looks unprofessional when the video thumbnails don’t display nicely on mobile devices.

I’d like to do the same.
Specifically, two things:
1. Allow only authors to rate – not visitors.
2. I want restrict ratings to a certain category. So that only posts belonging to that category display a rating (if one exists). Any posts that do NOT belong to the specified category do NOT display a rating.
This is useful for review type blogs – e.g., movie or music reviews.
Anyone?

In reply to: [GD Star Rating] [Plugin: GD Star Rating] Hide gd stars on specific page(s)I’d like to do this too .. except only for categories I specify.
In other words, I only want to display ratings for posts of a certain category.
Also, I want to restrict ratings for so only authors or admins can rate.
There is a fix for the HTML code problem!
Install TinyMCE Advanced plugin and drag the HTML button to the toolbar. A small HTML button will now be displayed as part of the Secondary HTML Content editor.

In reply to: Blank site after copying to another folder locationFixed!!
Turns out I had a rule in my FTP client (Transmit) that skipped a file that was required for the theme I’m using (Thesis)
I discovered this by checking the Apache log.
Thanks for your help ! ??

In reply to: Blank site after copying to another folder locationI went through the instructions on the ‘Changing The Site URL‘ page – still no site, all blank.
I’m going to check the apache log – or rather, I’m asking someone who has access to that to check it for PHP errors that may be causing this.
Who’d have though simply changing the URL would cause this?! :-/
If it were a new hosting environment it might be understandable but this is the same server. All I’ve done is copy files from one folder to another.
The database name is the same and on the same server too …
Any more ideas people? ??
