Hi @wfadam,
Thanks for the reply!
So the short version is I managed to get this working…
I didn’t look at the Console so not sure of what the errors may have been. Will keep that in mind for next time.
The trouble was I couldn’t get the Firewall into Learning Mode… apparently I had Wordfence installed on a different WordPress install? Anyway, I seemed to be stuck in a loop and couldn’t get anything to work until I tried it on a different computer, and for some reason I could actually download the .htaccess and .user.ini files, continue with the optimisation process and finally upload the CSV file!!
Thanks again,
JonHi Cory,
Thanks so much for your swift response ??
I’ve since figured out a workaround to my problem, but thanks heaps for the reply.
Just FYI – I checked the package out of curiosity, and it wasn’t in database mode and no filters applied… not exactly sure what was happening, but no doubt was user error!!
Thanks again,

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Cannot apply shipping class to a productHi @fernashes,
Thanks so much for suggesting this solution.
I’ve just checked my permissions and it was already on 755… I tried 777 to change the shipping class but no luck again.
I really appreciate your help so far!

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Cannot apply shipping class to a productHi @fernashes,
Thanks so much for your reply ??
I did the conflict test and still no luck.
When I check the console while trying to save the new shipping class in Quick Edit, I do see an error:
[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) (jquery.form.min.js.map, line 0)
I’ll look into this a bit more, but does that indicate anything to you?
Thanks!

In reply to: Updated theme – homepage works, all other pages blankAwesome, thanks @sterndata – will give that a go ??
Quick update – I can get it working partially, but not the way I need it to.
Currently I’m trying to redirect at folder level with wildcards. If I
redirect from | Folder | relative URL | Only the folder
then it works, but any sub folders and content don’t work.If I choose the folder and it’s contents in stead of only the folder, its stops working.
Thoughts?
David Anderson – that seems to have done the trick.
Thanks a lot!
JonDavid Anderson, it does happen everytime.
The site was previously backing up to Google Drive fine, but since I moved the remote storage to a new Google Drive account (following the UpdraftPlus instructions) I’ve been having this issue.
Since the move to the new Google Drive account, I have also mirrored this site into a dev environment, which I also tried to setup to backup to the same location. Same issues.
No worries DNutbourne,
Struggling to paste the log text – it appears too big for the free sites??
Anyway, I just uploaded the file to Dropbox, which you can access here:

In reply to: New dev site setup but all inks point to homepageThanks lorro!
Really not sure what goes on with the database of this site… it’s not a standard hosting arrangement.
Awesome, I will check out the plugin, as it sounds like it is a database link issue.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Format Media Titles] plugin has stopped working…Hi David,
Thanks for the response!
I figured it out – I was putting my titles in the ‘Title’ metadata attribute of the image, instead of the ‘Headline’ attribute. Now that my info is in the headline, it is working perfectly ??
Thanks!

In reply to: Uploading new image to media library corrupts siteHi Jason,
Thanks for the reply!
I *think* I have tracked it down to a Google-Maps-GPX-Viewer plugin I had enabled… disabled it and the homepage loads again!
Thanks!
JonForum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Creating a child theme from a modified parentThanks alchmyth,
OK, I’m a little further along now. I have ignored the custom.css and created a new style.css file, that part is all working fine.
Now I’m having trouble with the custom page templates.
I have placed them in the child theme directory. They all worked fine before I started creating this child theme.
Now when I open a page using one of these custom page templates, I get no content – just my <h1> then the footer.
But the funny thing is, a couple of the custom page templates do work, but only when they have the same filename as a template in my parent folder. eg: I have template-contact.php in my parent folder and my child folder. This page template works OK from the child theme.
But where the template in the child folder is unique (does not ‘overwrite’ a template in the parent folder) it doesn’t seem to work.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Jon
