    page->edit

at the top is a link to get to the trash, go in there and delete the trashed copies

Ahh, I am looking for a simpler solution really. Something like a plugin.

The problem I am trying to overcome is to display full posts in a category archive view. The Embed Chessboard plugin doesn’t show in the category archive view, even though the post text will. The developer said this:

It looks like wordpress, in the category/tags view does not show the entire post but only an excerpt. Depending on the theme, the excerpt might get stripped from HTML tags. The wordpress embed-chessboard plugin uses the <textarea> and the <iframe> plugin, hence the chessboard display might get broken.

Some themes allows for configuring the excerpt, for instance the atahualpa theme allows specifying which HTML tags should not be stripped from excerpts. By preserving the <p>, <textarea> and <iframe> tags then the chessboard is properly displayed in the category/tags view.

So I was hoping to find a workaround for this problem, maybe with a plugin or something. There will be lots of categories and lots of sites using this structure so it needs to be simple.

This is the page where I want to show the full posts including the chessboard: https://www.morragambit.com/category/morra-gambit-accepted/chicago-defence/

Note that if you view the posts or this link…

    https://www.morragambit.com/blog/

…they do show the full chessboard plugin.

    Any ideas?

Where do I put that code? I created a page called test and posted it in under the html section. Is that wrong?

Because the instructions say I need to. And when I go to the WYSIWYG editor, I get this message:

Exec-PHP WYSIWYG Conversion Warning. Saving this article will render all contained PHP code permanently unuseful. Even if you are saving this article through the Code editor. You can turn off this warning in your user profile. Ignore this warning in case this article does not contain PHP code. Read the Exec-PHP documentation if you are unsure what to do next.

I set up another user who doesn’t have the WYSIWYG editor and I could put the php code in there. But when I opened the post using another user and updated the non-php code, it messed up the php.

So, I have a problem! Any solution?

    That worked nicely thanks.

What I am trying to do is have a static homepage and blog posts under an Articles page. But how can I do this if I want my homepage to look different to the other pages?

If I go to Settings>Reading>Front page displays and set it to a static page, then I have the sidebar issue, since it will pick a page.php page which will contain the side bar, which I don’t want on the homepage.

    Any ideas?

I have unchecked the two options you mention, but I am still getting spam comments. Why is that? Seems odd since I have unchecked these items.

Please note that I have just upgraded to 2.1 and I am still getting these spam comments. I just want to turn the comment feature off. How?

Should I create the theme using Dreamweaver? I have a template for the site in there. Ideally I would like to use the existing template and add tags in to provide the content from WP. If that isn’t too easy, I just want the easiest method!

The site is https://www.speedrecovery.com. So not sure if something like that would be easy to do in WP.
