In reply to: [Jomres Hotel Booking Engine for WordPress] can not enter your websiteI am not going to change the Geoblocking, it’s done by Sucuri, not me. Please ask your ISP to contact https://sucuri.net/ to inform them of the change of the location of the IP number. I block Russian Federation, China and the Ukraine because there’s far too much spam & hack attempts from those countries to be tolerable.
Meanwhile, do you have a VPN you can use?

In reply to: [Jomres Hotel Booking Engine for WordPress] can not enter your websiteHi
Maybe it it because my internetprovider has buyed old ip addresses which was fromm russia
Yes, that could cause problems. I get a phenomenal amount of spam registrations every day so I’m afraid for the forum I have to limit registrations through spam-blocking technology.
If i like to create a booking portal for different accomodations which should pay to me a commission or a fix amount each month/year would this be possible with jomres?
Yes. See
can the accomodationn owner enter and set up rates availability etc, like the extranets of expedia and/or booking.com?
Yes. Jomres is multi-vendor, that means that you can have lots of property managers, with their own properties, on your platform.

Thanks Cedie!
Please contact me via https://tickets.jomres.net and I’ll look into it for you.

In reply to: [Jomres Hotel Booking Engine for WordPress] Outstanding Support *****Hi Hristo
Let’s just say that it would be very impractical to do so. Jomres works on both Joomla and WordPress, and has been working from it’s own directory off the root since the mid naughties. To date this hasn’t been problematic for any of our users.

In reply to: [Jomres Hotel Booking Engine for WordPress] Outstanding Support *****Thanks Alan.
For anybody using Siteground (who have a fine reputation, this isn’t meant as a dig against them) it appears that they make the root directory unwritable on WordPress installations.
If you see a message “Jomres dir is not writable” when you try to activate* Jomres then log in via ftp and in the public_html directory create a sub-directory called “jomres” and that should resolve the issue.
* Jomres is actually two parts, for the purpose of working with WordPress. The first part is the bridging code that allow Jomres and WordPress to talk to each other. When you install Jomres thru the WP online plugin installer what you’re actually doing is downloading the bridging code. The main part of Jomres is only downloaded, unzipped and installed when you actually Activate it.
Aw shucks.

In reply to: [Jomres Hotel Booking Engine for WordPress] Offsite Installation.I’ll have a look at the delete issue in the morning, it should delete the tables and directory contents.
As for tables, remember that Jomres is a complete booking portal, not a simple booking engine for a single property. It’s multi-vendor, multi-language and multi-property and it has evolved considerably over the last 13 years, all the while providing a direct update path for older users.
As it’s cms agnostic, only using the bare minimum of code to hook into either WordPress or Joomla ( codebase works on both CMSs ) so it has to do all of the heavy lifting and can’t rely on the host CMSs or other plugins. In theory Jomres could run on Drupal too, however I’m not that much of a masochist.
There are about 650k lines of code, including the plugins, as you can guess it’s a lot for two guys to maintain. We work very hard to ensure performance is as good as we can make it however if you should find any bottlenecks we’ll be happy to look into it.

In reply to: [Jomres Hotel Booking Engine for WordPress] Offsite Installation.Well, that escallated quickly.
Regarding the ticket in the other thread, I looked it up. I did reply to the user however they never responded, so the allegation of ignoring them is completely unfounded. I’ve not had any other complaints about Jomres/WP/their gateway not working in the three years since so I assumed that OSDCS and the user had resolved the issue.
Donnacha doesn’t work for me. He is, however, a very enthusiastic user and has been for many years and I now consider him a friend. This is something I always want to do, turn users into friends because that’s how we all move forward. This has come about because I listen to his suggestions and where possible and if appropriate, I will implement them.

In reply to: [Jomres Hotel Booking Engine for WordPress] Offsite Installation. If offsite installation bothers you, you can download the entire system from here https://github.com/WoollyinWalesIT/jomres (releases https://github.com/WoollyinWalesIT/jomres/releases is also an option)
You’re not forced to use the web installer, but it’s the most convenient method of delivering a large system to your site. The choice is yours, and I always endeavour to be as open and transparent as possible in everything I do.

In reply to: [Jomres Hotel Booking Engine for WordPress] is there any glossaryHi,
Sorry for the delay responding, I missed your question.
Businesses – properties are the same.
Resources are a bit more ambiguous. Generally the refer to rooms, or room features. You can see the structure in the Site Structure area in the Administrator area.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Jomres Hotel Booking Engine for WordPress] WordPress theme for single hotelI did advise you to install the Quickstart, a video for which you can see here.
https://www.jomres.net/download
That’s where you’ll see the booking system, already installed and setup. Like I said, don’t install it into an existing site, instead create a new site just for the Quickstart. Building a full booking site is very time consuming, so it’s easier to use one of our Quickstarts to get you setup right away.
If you don’t want to use the Quickstarts then the best thing you can do is refer to the manual, which is here https://www.jomres.net/manual/
