More code duncery: I can’t find what firebug tells me is the top poll question so I can make it smaller and give it a margin-bottom. Firebug says the poll question is here (below), but where can I change those specs given I don’t see this in the yop-poll css, in the poll templates?

On the same site, spacing related with an image, one image I’ve put up on a page looks great on my machine (type1diabetesandme.com/my-dexcom-readings/), taking up about 66% screen-width, while on my husband’s machine it takes up 95% screen-width.

Is there any way I can set the image size to be [more] “responsive” so it stays at a certain percentage of screen size/width? Thank you so much, you are a savior!

Is there also a way to adjust space following widget titles and line-heights of content residing within widgets, site-wise, or does that depend per widget?

The titles are sooo far from the widget content, and line-heights of things inside the widgets is also fit for a giant.

I am using a twentytwelve child theme, which is almost totally empty, but I do have one text widget title sitting there, way too low.

Is there any way I can adjust css so this one text widget title moves up, just as I moved up the content per the 7-yr-old query here’s response showed how to do?

(I wish I could just do what that guy found out, but his question remained un-fixed til his Q was closed here, alas.

So, certain plugins can cause hyphens on their own? I ask because I recently used the code noted above, and changed everything to : none, rather than : auto, so all page content is now hyphen-free. Yet my sidebar-widget-provided content still appears with hyphens. (I did just activate JetPack, could that be it, and if so, does anyone know where to find it there?)

Otherwise, is there a way to specify the : none all the way site-wide somehow? Thanks so much. ??

Is there a video or written tutorial about how to use this plugin, which sounds like it will help me, though I’m entirely awkward using WP especially any code changes. I have the same question as Angelluc07, though see how I can use this plugin to exclude a category from the homepage, but that’s all I “get” in looking this over.

Hi, re the header.php file, I copied/pasted the header.php file that you put for me on pastebin. I assumed you’d made changes in that file?

Did I ideally need to delete some of my css file? I pasted your edits to the bottom of my css file. I’m questioning if some of your edits, above, and my edits (which are at the top of the css file), can be override one another so may be deleted?

Hi again, just checking in. I hacked/jury-rigged the css to position the header image, title/tagline. Hope I didn’t truly jury-rig it, as I was notified by several I had the first time. If you see something done horribly, please send me how to do this better?

1. Re the page, okay closer, though I still need the header image higher (to top/browser window), and the nav bar and content will accordingly also need to move up. How can I adjust that — I don’t see any thing that makes sense for me to touch in the css you gave me?

That’s exactly it. In case I change the header image ever, I’d prefer that the title+tagline can appear as text on top of the header image.

I reverted to no CSS positioning, and the content area stays at the same spot on the page. What I’d like is:
– How can I have header image flush to top/browser window, with
– Site title/tagline on TOP of that,
– Nav bar flush to bottom of header image, and
– Content starting in a normal spot below that?

I’m back at square one. The changes I want are obviously minor, but how do get them done seems major given my experience so far. Thanks so much for your help, Andrew. Maybe you’ll just send me instructions and I can stop jury-rigging any code!
