I put the desired files page.php and single.php in my child theme.

Then I updated.

The theme does not read the files from my child theme, but takes them from the root theme.

So that′s why I wondered if I have to put the files page.php and single.php in a folder in the child theme.

Thanks for your answer, but it didn′t work, after the update the theme didn′t take the files out of my child theme.

I suppose I have to make a folder in the child theme, but no idea how to name it.

Will removing the seo plugin and installing it again have negative effects on my website, or would there be no problem?

I looked with ftp at the seo plugin folder, and the main folder has all the rights, the problem is that I don′t know where the update wants to make a folder, if I knew that I could give it the proper rights to do so.

Yes, it is rather strange, because in Chrome I see only the preview part on the right hand side, and in Firefox it′s the other way round, there I only see the adjustment part.

So I was able to make adjustments, but I have no idea what happened.
