In reply to: Forum not accepting password I've used for yearsI got a new password and am using it – but no idea why.
Yes, I want to know HOW to delete the banner frame and “Advertise Here” from the space were an advertiser has left us.
Pretty simple, right? Yet I’ve asked over and over and nobody has told me
how! Am using the latest v 2.6Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Loss of vertical space between paragraphsI got a no-reply email saying I must give the URL of my website instead of attaching a screenshot. I did. Here it is again:

In reply to: Edit Page has slowed down greatlyBut strangely it only is slow in Safari; when I use Firefox it is fast. Guess I’ll just get the automatic login to work in Firefox and use it after this.

In reply to: Images not loading sometimesThanks for the responses. WP was set up to work only with Safari I think, but I’ll give Firefox a try. Yesterday it didn’t happen at all. Do you mean WP plug-ins or plug-ins anywhere on the iMac? Didn’t know about them; where do I find them? And Elements seems to have stopped leaving off the .jpg on graphics.

In reply to: Losing .jpg suffix on graphics when uploadingNo, it is not file.jpg.jpg. They have only a single .jpg and are prepared exactly the same way in Photoshop Elements 9. Never had this problem before. No new plugins whatever. WP has also been doing some other strange things lately. Among them: putting up Two identical versions of the same article when I only uploaded it once. The graphic failing to appear on the site when I saw it on the Add New Post page before I hit UPDATE. I’ve also contacted the support forum at Elements Village, but no response as yet.
By the way, clearing the Safari cache destroyed all my Safari bookmarks (and it made no difference) so I’m having to deal with that disaster now…Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Losing .jpg suffix on graphics when uploadingno new plug-ins. Yes, tried all three of my browsers and trashed the cache and cleared cookies of all three. No changes as a result.

In reply to: Category list on Edit Page has disappearedThe triangle only appears when the cursor passes over the CATEGORIES area. BIG MISTAKE! It should be visible at ALL times. No wonder I couldn’t find how to correct it.

In reply to: Category list on Edit Page has disappearedFound it! one of us must have somehow accidentally clicked on the tiny triangle to the right of CATEGORIES, which got rid of the entire list and check boxes. The triangles should be MUCH larger and/or CATEGORIES underlined…

In reply to: Category list on Edit Page has disappearedSorry, Under Categories it said NAME, not ALL. And when I went back there that box was now UNchecked. I checked it again.

In reply to: Category list on Edit Page has disappearedYes, thanks. Didn’t think the OS was a factor. First thing I thought of was to go to Screen Settings as you suggested. All that is there is Edit My Profile and Log Out. All the check boxes were checked. I also found a list of all the categories/sections. nothing was checked but there was a box at the top that said ALL, so I check it. It made no difference.

In reply to: All banners on site disappearedSorry to disagree, but there is in ours. My webmaster may have set up that way. The banners are back due to welcome help from OIO Publisher’s support person. He found it had something to do with OIO’s javascript ad code which may have been related to my hosting firm’s unilaterally making several security changes without notifying me. He re-factored the javascript to get around the issue.

In reply to: All banners on site disappearedI uploaded using OIO Publisher, which comes up as one of the options in Word Press. I checked the above folder. It is full of all the articles and covers I published, except for the last two days. But here are no banners at all since that was done via OIO Publisher, at “Purchases.”
