In reply to: Allow posting only from my domain? Not sure I really understand what you are wanting to achieve.
Most people would have to be at your site to comment. They would write a comment in the comment box and hit submit.
If you are concerned with spammers sending you comments automatically then you need to activate Akismet, or SK2 or some other anti spam WP plugin.
Hope that helps!

In reply to: HELP my page doesn’t work in IE!It’s probably a width thing. It’s either the width of the image (make sure the actual width of the image is no wider than the sidebar allows) or adjust the sidebar width in your CSS.
You can also do something like <img width=”123″ height=”456″ alt=”abc” src=”https://www.someplace/image.jpg” /> to adjust the image size.

In reply to: Receive an External Protocol Request when clicking on RSS linkHmmm! I use NetNewsWire for RSS.
In Safari Preferences/RSS I have directed it to NetNewsWire.
Then when I open FireFox on my blog home page I get an RSS icon on the right hand side of the URL location window thingy (in FF). If I click on that I get an option to create a bookmark. That bookmark is the RSS feed for my blog in Firefox.
Only Safari and FF on the mac (I think) can read RSS.

In reply to: Receive an External Protocol Request when clicking on RSS linkNot 100% sure but I suggest you Deactivate your Feedburner plugin and then try again. If it works with Firefox etc then, then you know all is well with your WP install and it’s to do with the redirect to Feedburner.
How to sort that out I can’t help you with but would suggest you ask another question as I am sure there are lots here who can help you.
john
BTW Safari keeps opening because you have it as the default RSS reader on your system.

In reply to: Needs to know how many visits to my siteYou don’t need to do anything else.
Go to Dashboard and you’ll see a menu item top/right that says ShortStat. Click on it and it will show you how many people/hits etc your site receives over time.
Markus at https://blog.happyarts.de/wp-shortstat/ is a nice guy and I am sure he will help you with anything specific…
Happy blogging!

In reply to: Needs to know how many visits to my siteAdd it (via FTP) to your /wordpress/wp-content/plugin/ folder and then activate it from within the wordpress dashboard/plugins section.
It should work okay. I’m using it on 4 sites.
Another one you can look at is the WordPress Plugin: PopStats

In reply to: Receive an External Protocol Request when clicking on RSS linkOn a Mac you’ll get that warning message before the operating system will allow an External Request to open a local program (Safari) for the first time. It’s normal. If you click okay and allow Safari to open you’ll not see it again unless you delete your system pref.

In reply to: Thumbnail archive by month>>does that make sense?
Yep! Not what I wanted to hear though ??
Thanks heaps!
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Thumbnail archive by monthWhen you go to the thumbs page now you can see up to 200 of my photos as thumbnails.
What I would like is to only show a ‘month of thumbs’ at a time (which I can do using WP_Query) BUT what I can’t figure out is how then to scroll to the previous month (as per ‘previous’ and ‘next post’) or if that can’t work (because this is a page) then something else.
It is archive of Thumbs (in excerpts), but on a page. Maybe I’ve been doing things wrong from the beginning :-))
Thanks Kahil…
