In reply to: [White Label CMS] [Plugin: White Label CMS] Hide welcome message of wordpressSounds like some sort of conflict. Possibly with other plugins? Not sure. What version of WP and WLCMS are you using?
Ok, I just confirmed that WLCMS 1.3 causes WP to go to the dashboard after login but WLCMS 1.4, 1.4.1, and 1.4.2 all cause it to go to the user profile page. So something must have changed in 1.4. Ideas?
Just to be clear this problem only seems to affect editors, not admins. I’m not sure if it affects lesser roles.

In reply to: [White Label CMS] [Plugin: White Label CMS] Hide welcome message of wordpressUsing WLCMS 1.4+, under “Dashboard Panels” there’s an option that says “Add your own Welcome Panel?”. Choose “No” and then Save Changes. This may be slightly different in older versions of WLCMS.

In reply to: [White Label CMS] [Plugin: White Label CMS] Welcome screen editor not showingI agree. This needs to be fixed ASAP.
Thanks for the workaround, sarahcclose, but, personally, I refuse to edit core WP files. Surely there’s a way to fix this in the WLCMS files.

Unfortunately I currently don’t have time to do any testing. It seems to be working and I rarely if ever make changes to W3TC settings once deployed. I’ll keep an eye on this in future WP installs.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] No Minify files = no style siteFor certain users, W3TC refuses to add the “gzip” extension to minified js and css files. For example W3TC outputs a file named “styles.css.” (note the . at the end) instead of “styles.css.gzip”. Since certain browsers (notably IE) can’t read these compressed files without the “gzip” extension at the end, websites are unstyled and without javascript functionality.
For some reason this problem does not affect all users so YMMV but it has been around since about 9.1.X. I have a feeling this is a server related issue (different versions of PHP, module access, etc).
Here’s a hack fix although I don’t recommend it since you will likely have to redo it with every update. I recommend disabling minify instead: https://kenntwas.de/2011/tips/tools-allgemein/english-version-wordpress-get-w3tc-0-9-2-1-running-with-minify-and-gzip-compression/

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Minify CSS not working with 9.2.2Frederick, do you have an ETA for fixing this bug once and for all? Minify used to work great but then something changed around 9.1.3-ish. I’m all for code progress and optimization but let’s just get this thing working again even if it means reverting to older but proven code.

Thanks scott, but i don’t think your parsing problem is related to mine. I’m referring to the now aging problem where W3TC refuses to add the “gzip” extension to minified js and css files. For example W3TC outputs a file named “styles.css.” (note the . at the end) instead of “styles.css.gzip”. Since certain browsers (notably IE) can’t read these compressed files without the “gzip” extension at the end, websites are unstyled and without javascript functionality.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] W3 Total Cache doesn't seem to be speeding up my siteDepending on your W3TC settings and theme related files, it’s possible you may not see much if any improvement.
Also keep in mind that the default W3TC settings disable page cache and I think minify for logged in users (click “Preview” on the General page to preview settings while logged in).
Also, also make sure that your W3TC settings have been deployed to the live site so users can take advantage (click “Deploy” on the General page). Upon activating W3TC for the first time, I’m pretty sure W3TC is in preview mode and the settings won’t take affect until you deploy them. BTW, I usually disable preview mode to avoid this problem but doing so means you’re making live changes so do so at your own risk. I only do this if I’m confident in the settings I’m using or updating.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Upgrade W3 Total Cache to 0.9.2.2 Fix Minify ProblemAha, additional configuration is the trick and exactly what I prefer to avoid. I’d rather not apply an unofficial patch to a buggy plugin that could break again with the next update.
Actually I just read your comments on the KenntWas.de page and now I’m confused. Are you using the patch with 0.9.2.2 or not?
BTW, your nurulimam.info links give me an error.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] CSS and JS minify not workingYMMV, but in my experience downgrading W3TC hasn’t been difficult at all. The plugin seems to clean up after itself nicely (deletes all cache, related files and removes it’s .htaccess settings). Simply deactivate the plugin first and then delete it through the WP Plugins page.
When working properly, W3TC rules. But this bug needs squashing ASAP! Otherwise it’s invaluable 4.5 star rating will start plummeting.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Upgrade W3 Total Cache to 0.9.2.2 Fix Minify ProblemSorry, I’m not sure what you mean by contact page. Can you summarize your settings in this thread so others can benefit?
- Are you using all default settings?
- Is minify set to auto or manual?
- What are your minify settings for CSS and JS?
- etc.
