    Ok. How?

    Hi,

Actually, I’ve solved the problem for the time being by reinstalling WordPress. I can now log in and I have changed my password.

Suspecting a hack, I went ahead and deleted all the users (except myself “admin” of course)–there weren’t that many users so it’s not a big deal.

But here’s the thing. It says I have TWO admins but it only lists ONE, me. How do I detect this missing admin, and how do I fix it?

    Thanks!

I tried that via FTP but now I get a bunch of error messages:

    Shane,

I already have the latest WordPress version.
I cannot disable plugins or change the theme because I can’t get the admin page to open.

    Other ideas?

    John

This just started happening on my site https://www.AmericanFreethought.com overnight.

Has anyone figured out definitively what is causing this and how to fix it? It appears to affect all the permalinks (all that I have checked anyway), and I don’t seem to be able to edit the link and remove all the gobbledy-gook off the end.

Unfortunately, I am not a coder. Is there a relatively straightforward way to remedy this?

    Thanks!

Well, I tried a little experiment. I tried adding a new post titled “test please disregard” with only the word “test” in the body. I gave it a tag “test” and gave it a category at random. It uploaded no problem. I then deleted that test entry and tried to repost a more wordy entry, but one that was just text (i.e. no hyperlinks, weird characters, images, etc.). I got the “Method Not Implemented” error message.

I then tried the “test please disregard” test again and no problem.

    Ideas?

Well, I think I solved the problem myself. First, I started turning off plugins one after the other until the “add tags” functionality returned. For whatever reason PodPress was the culprit.

I had PodPress 8.8 but 8.8.1 was available, so I upgraded automatically and the problem went away. I have no idea why, but if somebody can explain it to me I would appreciate it.

Is this a known bug in 2.7 or 2.7.1? Either way, any ideas what might be causing this? Could re-installing 2.7.1 fix the problem?

Thanks, but… I haven’t tinkered with the code at https://www.AmericanFreethought.com and it doesn’t show tags. Isn’t there some setting I can select/deselect and get the same result? Thanks again!

    (@johncsnider)

Is that a tutorial for that? Thanks again!

Thanks I will give it a shot.

Now…I assume this means that anyone who’s hardlinked to a specific article from the outside will lose that link, yes?

    Thanks again!

Hey, thanks for the offer. I actually figured out how to replace the image, but when it displays it’s looks crappier than the original, like it’s heavily pixellated or showing at a lower resolution. Check out https://www.SciFiDimensions.com/podcast to see what I’m talking about. Thanks!

Well, I have figured it out on my own. For reasons I don’t understand, you have to enable WordPress permalinks and then activate podpress stats and the links work fine.

    Thread Starter johncsnider

    (@johncsnider)

If I disable the podpress stats the files play fine. I found on a podpress wiki elsewhere that it has something to do with WordPress permalinks. Can someone help me sort this out?

I tried deleting the post altogether and reposting:

    Still no luck. Help!!!
