Forum: Plugins
In reply to: wp blog stats is not workingSame problem with my blog. I’ve been using wp-stats since it was first introduced, and it’s always been fine. But since I upgraded to 2.9.1 I don’t have stats anymore.

In reply to: 2.9 Installation Fails EverytimeI had to install manually. Everything seems to be OK now. But very disappointing that the automatic install didn’t work. I’d still like to know why. It was certainly nothing to do with plugin incompatibility. That was one of the first things I checked.

In reply to: 2.9 Installation Fails EverytimeWordPress 2.9.1 has arrived, but not for me. The automatic upgrade won’t work, though it always worked before.
I’m sure there must be a simple answer to this, but it seems quite difficult to get any valid responses.Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: 2.9 Installation Fails EverytimeThis continues to be a problem for me, too, and, it appears, for many others. Let’s hope the 2.9.1 final release which is promised in a few days will solve the problem. Until then I’m only going to wait.
But 3.0.4 works perfectly.
On the other hand . . . when I say solved, I mean that I no longer get the message saying it is installed incorrectly. It looks good and when activated I get the message that it is activated.
But when I try to access the site on my mobile (Nokia n95) through the Nokia user agent (listed in Settings), it only comes up with a blank screen.
If I deactivate WordPress Mobile Edition I can access the site easily on the phone.
Does anyone else have a better experience?OK, solved it.
You have to delete the old installation and start over.
Now the correctly named files are present in the 3.0.3 download.
In the themes directory the new folder should be installed like this:
wp-content/themes/carrington-mobile-1.0.1
Then it will work.In all the downloading I’ve done I’ve never seen a folder called ‘carrington-mobile’, although I have seen a folder with another folder inside it called ‘carrington-core’. I’ve manually put the wp-mobile folder into the themes directory. But I still get a message telling me that the installation is incorrect.
Should I extract the ‘carrington-core’ folder and put that into the themes directory alone?
Like dazzlindonna, I’ve also used the plugin for some time and never had a problem. But this time around it seems to be more complicated than it need be.Sorry, Alex, I don’t quite understand your answer. Should I not have this problem? Have others downloaded or upgraded automatically and have it working out of the box?
I upgraded to 3.0.2 automatically and got a message saying it wasn’t installed correctly – see the readme file. I read the readme file and deleted everything and tried installing by hand. Same error message.
Today I tried upgrading automatically to 3.0.3 and got the same error message. Tried again to do it manually but again ended up with the same message.
So I went back to the source site (AlexKing) und uploaded from scratch. Now I’ve got version 3 and it’s working and there’s no error message. But my plugins page wants me to upgrade to 3.0.3.
Should I go through all of this again or wait for 3.0.4?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: PHP 5Still the same problem here. I tried your solution, Tomontoast, but it didn’t make any difference.
Does anyone have any other ideas?
As it is we’re going to reinstall once again, but this is getting quite tiresome.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: PHP 5Is there no help for this problem?
I don’t know where to go from here.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: PHP 5If I disable the pretty permalinks the site functions correctly.
The HTaccess file looks like this:
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule># END WordPress
Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

In reply to: PHP 5Thanks for getting back to me on this. All the plugins have been disabled, so it’s not down to that.
Would be really good if you could give me some idea how to do these diagnostic tests . . .
The blog is running fine on the old server, but I really need some PHP5 functionality.Forum: Fixing WordPress
