In reply to: My website is working, but I cannot access the wp- admin login page.James
I thank you for your help, even though I have acted very inappropriately, and for that I apologize, but the site is a wp site because in cpanel the themes are twentyfifteen, twentyfourteen and twentythirteen, as well we could access the site admin login page (WordPress) two months ago to make changes. Most of the coding that I am able to access have the prefix of wp-.
However, about two weeks ago, we noticed that the cpanel layout had changed and the previous layout was nowhere to be found. Perhaps the cpanel site was updated, or something, I do not know.
According to Wappalyzer the site looks like it is under Dreamweaver (I just checked now after reading that you said it was not a wp site) and that perhaps the site was migrated to this new format/development program.
The company we had used initially to get this site up and running for us, simply took the money, did a very basic job, not what we required, and then became uncontactable. This is why I have been forced to try to redevelop the site myself.
Looks like I will now have to learn to use Dreamweaver, or is there a way to migrate it back to WP?

In reply to: My website is working, but I cannot access the wp- admin login page.James, do you have any suggestions on how I am supposed to delete all the wp files except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory, and then replace these into the new installation.
On Cpanel I can upload the fresh copy of WordPress, but I do not know how to save the two files mentioned, or how to install them back into the freshly installed wp.
[ No bumping please. ]

In reply to: My website is working, but I cannot access the wp- admin login page. The real problem is that while I tried, to the best of my abilities, to resolve my predicament utilizing suggestions given to me on this forum, the problem is that these suggestions are too vague, and I need help on actually doing (Step by step) the processes suggested.
When I first asked you for a tutorial, you only referred me back to your first outline of what I needed to do.
I am not a tech person and the suggestion of what you originally posted assumes that I have at least a rudimentary skill-set in dealing with wordpress on a technical side. I do not.
Again, my apologies for using different login names, it was not my intention to disrespect anyone.

When I did as you suggested, that is when I got the 404 Error code. I have spent several hours trying a multitude of different ways of entering this, and none have worked.
I tried various other remedies suggested by others on this, and other related forums…to no avail.

In reply to: My website is working, but I cannot access the wp- admin login page.Could you tell me the process of doing this, as well as how do I completely delete the present copy of wp and then, how do I copy and replace the wp-config.php and wp-content/directory, into their respective slots.

In reply to: My website is working, but I cannot access the wp- admin login page.James Huff, how is this done? When I say newbie….I mean Newbie!! I can obviously download a fresh copy of wp through my c/panel, but i do not know how to save and replace files.
Will the fresh download erase my files or website content? More importantly, will this remedy the problem.
Thank you in advance.
