In reply to: [Podcast] Footer columnsHi Dumitru – thanks very much for your helpful reply. I might pass on this edit at the moment, maybe it could be an update in the future.
Btw – I love the simplicity of your site and the excellent video you did to set it up. It was all up and running in less than a day.Best regards,

In reply to: reinstalling from backup NOT workingI’ve found the reference to the databases in the config file but cannot find where to upload the .sql or.mysql files.
Do you know where they sit in the WordPress structure?

In reply to: reinstalling from backup NOT workingHi Jan – they sent me a backup file that has a msql folder but because I am such a novice all the files have the account name (fulfil) and a number. E.G. My guess is somewhere in the config of the sites will be a reference to the numbers.
If you can tell me which other folders I need to restore these sites and where on the restored site’s folders I might find the reference to the DB numbers and where to place the files once I match them i will be so grateful that next time you’re in London I’ll buy you beer for a whole weekend! ??
Cheers,

In reply to: reinstalling from backup NOT workingThanks Jan – you are correct about the message. I appreciate the links to the articles but it may be a case of closing the gate after the horse has bolted.
I am not a coder. I simply built a WP website, saved it and now have pasted it back. I wouldn’t know what to check in the wp_config.php file.
Does this mean that I wont be able to restore the site? I do have a back up of my server from my hosts but as it didn’t have any content files I didn’t know what to make of it.
I would really appreciate any help you can give me. These sites are very important to me.
Thanks,

In reply to: Unable to access site at allOk – I’m a newbie and not really sure how to do what you are recommending. I usually just use Softaculous or Fantastico to install WP and then install a theme and play around in the dashboard.
How do I download a fresh copy of just that version of WP and what exactly is the root directory? All my websites are in pubic_html in my cpanel. Is this my root directory? Then do I simply copy all the files from my desktop back to the new WP installation apart from the anything to wp-content?
Do I name the new installation the same as the old one? (or do I have to name it?)
Sorry if I’m a bit slow but I’m a little lost in this technology at times.
