In reply to: Linking an outside forum on a pageWP united can be a mega PITASS. Are you trying to fit the forum inside your header/footer to have a seamless integration. Meaning the forum looks just like your main site but in between the header & footer is the forum script? If you need help let me know. I’ve worked with it many times, hated it but it works.

In reply to: Linking an outside forum on a pageI think you mean FireHost? Just make sure you link up registration between the two sites. Your main site & the forum. Also make sure you get the forum to link back to your main site using main menu navigation. It helps so much and won;t frustrate your visitors. Also linkup FB connect & TW connect too. In reply to: Linking an outside forum on a pageWell first off… Good looking site, well done. Secondly your question seems odd. The forum link in your main menu navigation links to your forum. The only problem I see is the forum does not link back to the main site. Kind of hard to go back and fourth. You’re using phpbb3? I’m sure you are. There is a place in the backend of the foruym to add these header links as main navigation for your forum and can link back to your main site. You’ll have to tell me what it is you’re looking for because your site links to the forum like it’s supposed too. [Link removed – this is not an advertising forum.]

In reply to: Import Failed Lost All Posts But 6Your import/export XML will have all the posts. Also where we’re you hosted? If you had the right package your hosting provider will have up to date backups. If it’s cheap hosting, you’re out on a limb by yourself. NO CHEAP HOSTING.
I really hope you can recover, I’ve lost everything before.

In reply to: Blank blog on new installationBest suggestion, delete it, download a fresh copy of WordPress 3.0.1 and reinstall. A blank screen typically means a php error. Finding that error won’t be easy. Take 10 minutes and reinstall it. [Link removed – this is not an advertising forum.]

In reply to: Unable to access blog rollUnclear on exactly what you mean? You access your blog roll under the admin sidebar titled “links” just under the admin sidebar tab “media”
Blog roll is also a title and can be called anything you like. Did that help?

In reply to: Links disappearing in a postHi Don.
The twenty theme wouldn’t strip links. How are you uploading and posting the links?
Don when inside the post click the add video ( second icon from left, top of post below title field ) and simply upload the file and insert into post, then publish.
WordPress will acknowledge the file and create a link for download.

In reply to: changing hosts – versions differAll you need is a fresh copy of WordPress the .sql downloaded from the database, ie phpmyadmin. and to make sure the wp-config is correct. That’s the 3 step “abridged” version just to help guide you. [Link removed – this is not an advertising forum.]

In reply to: Quick Question regarding 404 errorsI Strongly agree with @woodent. Redirection is essentially routine for our installs these days. You can always create a 404 page template containing a quick sitemap & blog search or modify your current during your next Installation. [Link removed – this is not an advertising forum.]

In reply to: Transfer WordPress.com to www.remarpro.com InstallationOn a normal import, only data transfers. It’s so you do not lose your data/content and images/videos, etc… Plus it rewrites all files with the new domain name and proper extensions ( if config’d ) before import. As Song Dog says do not remove or erase any work done to your old theme. Copy and paste it all, preferably in gmail account and remove all rich formatting ( just in case ) then paste away my friend.
