In reply to: .wp posts table crashingthanks t-p, been there, done that. I have (hopefully) now ruled out it being a plug-in issue. I haven’t tried the theme, but not willing to change that significantly and wait for days to fail, while being screwed up. The blog site gets several thousand uniques a day is is the heart of my business.

In reply to: .wp posts table crashingThanks t-p, I have. I’m with Hostgator and they say it is a wordpress issue (and now I’m here :)).

In reply to: WordPress admin section’s are running 2500 queries!I think I might have a similar problem and I’m looking for the answer here as well. I have 1350 pages and when I try to add/edit a page, I get this error [Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 40 bytes) in /home/admin/public_html/manausa.com/tallahassee-mls/wp-includes/meta.php on line 197]
I’ve read all the forum stuff recommending I change php.ini or .htaccess, but I’m limited by Hostgator to 64MB. I’m wondering what is causing the problem (yes deactivated plugins, etc). I think it only happens when it tries to load the 1350 pages in the wp-admin. They are small and simple pages, but that is I think it lies.
Any clues?

In reply to: Save Draft Only Works OnceWith some help, I figured it out. I use Firefox, so I tried it in IE8 and it was working fine. This made me assume it was a FF problem.
I decided to check each add-in in FF by deactivating and then trying to save a new draft. Turns out the culpret was the Skype Add-in and it is now deactivated and all is working well.

In reply to: What is the best plug-in for embedding videos?Andy,
I’ve always been happy with Easy Tube. Don’t use it often though.

I am a total novice and had similar issue. A friend fixed it for me and the following is what he said. I really can’t help any more than this, as it is above my head to begin with. I sure hope this helps you.

Found your issue – no plugins fault. The error is:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 228968 bytes) in /mnt/stor2-wc1-dfw1/371558/393513/blog.XYZ.com/web/content/wp-includes/functions.php on line 251
I fixed it by adding @ini_set(‘memory_limit’,’64M’); to your config file.
