I’ve had UpdraftPlus for probably 10 years or more, but it has never backed up my website when I’ve run it. I suppose one might say it has something to do with the size of the website, but it hasn’t always been a big site. I’m not a programmer (dammit Jim, I’m a doctor, not a computer guy!), so maybe there’s a way to fix this that others talk about, but I’d have to hire someone who speaks that language to perform the necessary work — if it’s even correctable, that is.

I’m clueless when it comes to FTP. This was my first attempt to add code to my website. I can’t access wp-admin, so I can’t get in to rename, replace, or anything at all. Is there another way into WP-admin aside from the regular url/wp-admin?

The only change I made, I thereafter deleted. There should be no changes at all to the file from whatever was originally there, as I stated in my original post.

Any suggestions as to my original post?

This is the error message that I’m getting:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home3/mbm/public_html/wp-content/themes/responsive/functions.php on line 38

If I could gain access to my dashboard, I could get in and try to correct the problem. But I can’t get in at all! Aaack!
