In reply to: View Source Blocked?I think I solved this problem by adding
<?php flush(); ?>
in the last line of index.php.
Sometimes I still can’t view the source, but at least the chinese (which comes before the flush) is displaying properly.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: View Source Blocked?I’m getting this too.
What’s more, when I type Chinese characters on an entry, they do not appear correctly when I can’t view source.
I believe that some of the time, the PHP doesn’t finish it’s processing, and the browser is indefinitely waiting for some kind of closure. When I hit “refresh” my Chinese looks fine and I can view source.
Is there a PHP tag I can use to end this foolishness?Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: LJ autoupdate Encoding Bugcorrection, if i activate LJ’s “auto-convert older entries from…” function, I do get the ability to delete those posts… but still they appear as garbage. I tried several different encoding options but they didn’t un-garbage the garbage. The entry is mangled before it gets to LJ.

In reply to: Suggestion: to move the meta tag about language enHi, I just want to say “thank you”. I am using UTF-8 encoding, but I had a problem in which my Chinese characters were showing up as garbage until I refreshed the page once, then they appeared fine. I don’t know the reason for this, but when I moved the encoding tag above the TITLE, the problem (apparently) was solved.

In reply to: Create new pages in wordpressbetter yet, take everything that appears before the “entries” section of the page, and call it index-top.php, take everything after that section and call it index-bottom.php.
Then in index.php you just include those two files, with the blog entries code in the middle. For your other pages, you use the two includes but with different content.Forum: Fixing WordPress
