Your suggestion seems to work. After a warning that “this action cannot be reversed”, the subscriber limit is gone now. Why is this not an option in the install wizard? Why is it not in the documentation?
Anyway, we’ll try to resume the evaluation.
@wbkcpe-sfcom and @lebensessenz
The installer does not cleanup the directory when it fails, nor does it overwrite (after asking permission) when it finds it already exists. Before you can retry installing, you need to manually delete the directory mailpoet in /wp-content/plugins/ using a FTP program or a file manager service if your hosting provider has one. Don’t worry, you will not delete your MailPoet 2 environment, this is in a directory called wysija-newsletters.
You are golden! That did the trick!
Any idea why WordPress itself has no problem with that colon* but MailPoet stumbles over it?
*) (“:”, I think a semicolon is “;”)
Our WordPress was installed by STRATO’s AppWizard. I assume this runs a script…. With a serious error.
@wysija Does this include displaying the featured image of “full WordPress post”? That is another feature of MailPoet2 that is essential to us, but for some reason does not work in version 3.
I hope “soon” is really soon. MailPoet2 is getting problems after upgrading PHP from 5.6 to 7.x.
That is, in addition to the inability to wrap text around images another reason why we will have to stay on version 2 ??

In reply to: [WordPress PWA] Further developmentWhy is that important announcement not on your homepage https://www.worona.org?
I arrived there via a link from a website with a positive review of worona and spent quite sime time reading through the FAQ etc before I came across the announcement that implies that I wasted my time! The details of the error, the part after “550” is typical for Microsoft Exchange.
If FS-data is running Microsoft Exchange as SMTP server, let the them check this: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/e763de97-88a1-494d-9841-4f3a466b5604/exchange-550-571-client-does-not-have-permissions-to-send-as-this-sender?forum=exchangesvradminlegacy
It’s an old thread, but I think it is still valid for more recent Exchange versions.
Same problem here, also with STRATO. Hello @mailpoet, this is NOT solved until you publish the solution here!

In reply to: [MailPoet - Newsletters, Email Marketing, and Automation] MailPoet 3 feedback1. Text wrapping around images is very problematic in email clients. We’re dropping it altogether.
We’re dropping MailPoet if this essential feature does not make it’s way to version 3. Our newsletter in MailPoet 2 consists almost entirely of WP posts with a 150px wide featured image aligned left and title + text wrapped around it.
We have seen no issues with that whatsoever on any client for the past 2 years and we’ve checked dozens of e-mail clients on all kinds of devices. Even on my compact (4.6″) smartphone it looks good.
The workaround presented here is not acceptable, it looks clumsy and it wastes space. I read there that the text wrapping would break their “new column system”. We don’t need columns.
Also the adds from our sponsors at the bottom mustcontain images with text wrapped around it. The sponsors do not agree with the way they appear in MP 3.
We simply cannot upgrade to MP 3 without this feature.
