If what you say is correct – could you please provide some information about the following:

I have changed the admin and login URLs a number of times. When I test the plugin by manually typing in the normal WP URL (e.g. https://mysite/wp-admin) I get the desired result, i.e. 404.

However, even right now (after changing the URLs and testing), my site is being attacked every 20 minutes from Russian IPs. My question is:

How is it possible for these guys to actually find the URL in the first place? Is there something somewhere that gives them some indication – because it no longer makes sense. Is this a possibility with the free version?

    Hi

I have changed both admin and login paths to various names to confuse hackers and it makes no difference. They still find my page and attempt to logon.

Regarding your response: The current free version only hides the admin and login paths to see if the product is compatible with your WordPress.

You have got to be joking! You mean that your plugin actually doesn’t do anything except check for compatibility. How about stating that up front in HUGE letters on the WP page for your plugin. Just cannot believe that what you say is correct!

Your PRO version may be good – but having a free version that only checks for compatibility is a real cheap shot.

    Thanks

Cannot argue with you much more on this issue. Just didn’t work for me on the combination of plugins being used. All of the best.

    Hi

I set the cache ON, gzip ON and expire headers ON. I did not get any error that I know of, since the contact form did not render when requested.

My point is that I read your page on WP very carefully and even watched your video. If software conflicts can occur (since it is a real possibility), then you should provide a short note on your page to tell users on how to trouble-shoot any issues. At present there is NO hint on your page that such a situation can occur.

In the same way that you cannot test 40K+ plugins, users like me cannot test/evaluate/configure/investigate each permutation just to get plugins to work. If it works – it works. If not we deactivate it and move on. We are not all PHP and SQL experts – we are users.

    Hi

Thanks for your FAST response. Based on your comments I deactivated the caching plugin called “WP Speed of Light” and the site now works properly. ??

It really bugs me that plugin authors actually still write bad code. will definitely be sending them a message……. gggrrrrrrrr.

    Update to previous posts:

Still could not fix the issue – so uninstalled Ninja and installed Forms 2 Email product. All works fine now. Please disregard all posts above.

    Some additional info:

The situation above occurs when I use Firefox (latest version).

I tested the reCAPTCHA feature by using a brand new installation of the OPERA browser and navigated to debittax.info/contact and found that the system does not even load the reCAPTCHA box at all. Even after I reloaded the page.

Please note that I an using WordPress 4.7.1 and all my plugins as up to date. My WP hosting service is at GoDaddy and they do most of the PHP config etc. I do use Ad Block Plus and No Script – but I deactivated both of these in Firefox in order to test. With OPERA I do not have any add-ins since it is a brand new installation.
