I’d like to inform you that the only feature installed in the URL you shared with our support team is the Address Bar Tracking feature. Hence, this is not something we’re related to in any way.

I’d suggest you remove the existing sharing buttons and install GetSocial’s Horizontal Bar Sharing App and let us know if your problem is fixed.

Thank you so much for reaching out. I’m not sure exactly what you mean with your question but I guess it’s somehow related to what do we do with the ‘likes’ on the GetSocial plugin.

If you install any facebook related app, your visitors will be able to share in three different ways:

• Facebook Share
• Facebook Recommend
• Facebook Like

Providing that one or more of these share types is in the top three, you’ll find them, separated and differentiated, on the top shares list in the analytics overview.

On a data ownership point of view, all data coming from likes (or any other feature) in the GetSocial plugin belongs to our users and we do not sell this data to any third-party companies and/or individuals.

Most of the GetSocial apps are free and it’s with most of our users in mind that we offer the product for free. Getting 1 star rating doesn’t help us at all to keep providing this service (which costs us a lot) for free.

I’m sorry that you were disappointed that some of the features were paid but I have to disagree with the creditability claim. On the plugin description you’ll find the following free quotes:

“Share Buttons by GetSocial.io is a free WordPress plugin that enables you to track social shares on WordPress” – True, as our analytics are free.

“Social media shares bar: Add our horizontal and vertical social shares bar and get free social media tracking of the shares made on your website.” – True, as both horizontal and social sharing apps are free as well as their analytics.

“Free Social Sharing Analytics” – True, all included

I’m failing to see the same lack of credibility as you do but mostly I’m sorry for all the users who won’t be able to experiment this free product because they now look at a poorly rated plugin.

I’m sorry (again) that you had a poor experience with the plugin but I have to say, ours was poorer with you.

One of the best pratices for facebook sharing is to add the og meta tags on your site.
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/best-practices#tags

This way you control what facebook shows when someone is sharing your content.

After downloading and activating the plugin, you’ll be asked to create an account (1-click). After that you’ll be presented with a series of apps you can easily, no code required, install on your wordpress website.

If you want classic share buttons I recommend you use our “Native Share Buttons” feature.
