In reply to: Mapping third-party domainsI’m sorry for not being clear. It means I don’t own the domain and I don’t even have access to its nameservers — the only thing I can do is tell my client “Here’s my www record IP address. Now point it there so I can map it to my domain.com/example WordPress Multisite blog.”
I’m sorry again if I wasn’t clear enough. I still don’t manage the arts of talking this geeky stuff that well. Thanks, though.

In reply to: Can't access /wp-admin on mapped domainsWhat are the other main domain mapping plugins?

In reply to: Can't access /wp-admin on mapped domainsFunny thing:
- When I select option #1, Remote login, WordPress immediately deselects it when I hit Save;
- I selected option #4, Redirect administration pages to site’s original domain (remote login disabled if this redirect is disabled) and I can now access my Multisite blogs dashboards, though through my main blog’s URL on top. I’d really prefer to do this via the sub-blog’s URL, so that my clients don’t actually see my main blog’s address on the URL – is this possible?

In reply to: Can't access /wp-admin on mapped domainsI have removed the
define('FORCE_SSL_ADMIN', true);
line, but the problem persists.The only option selected on the Domain Mapping menu is “Permanent redirect (better for your blogger’s pagerank)”, as you can see here.
Any more suggestions?

In reply to: Mapping a subdirectoryAhaha, you’re right, of course! I didn’t know that. It’s a sort of a workaround, but will do the trick ??
Thank you guys!
Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: Mapping a subdirectoryThe thing is that I’m not mapping my main WPMU domain, but one of the Multisite sub-blogs, so I guess that dumping my /forum anywhere else but the wp-content/blogs.dir/ directory won’t do the trick. Am I right?
I mean, I don’t want my /forum to be located in https://joaoramos.org/forum, but in https://ntc-ua.com/forum (as it is right now). Any other suggestions?

In reply to: Mapping a subdirectoryHow do you mean? Inside my WordPress Multisite wp-content/blogs.dir directory? Will it work without .htaccess and rounting workarounds?

In reply to: Crashed usermeta tableNope, I’ll just do it manually, then. Thanks!

In reply to: Mapping a subdirectoryThanks, Andrea.
Since doing that requires me to replace my directory with a symlink, can I then migrate my punBB forum to https://ntc-ua.com/forum, as it is right now?
Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: Mapping a subdirectoryYes, folks at MediaTemple told me exactly the same, “You’ll need to configure WordPress to understand ntc-ua.com/blog URL instead, as it will always be accessing the WPMU installation with that domain.”
So, is there anything else I can do? I really need a workaround or something to fix this mapping issue. I really need that blog running asap ??
