In reply to: Paypal button not workingOops, the pay pal donate button code I just posted came out like an image link!
Silly newbees…didn’t notice that you have to mark it as code. Here it is again:
<a href="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=xxxx"><img src="https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_donateCC_LG_global.gif" border="0"/></a>
Remember to replace the xxxx with your button ID, which can be found on your Pay Pal “Saved Buttons” page.
Maybe NOW this topic is resolved?
Best,
Joanna

In reply to: Paypal button not workingCathryn and others with placement or alignment problems–search the forum for alignment problems. There are lots of topics covering your situation.
Also, if you’re using widgets for your sidebar, try creating a separate one for each item, i.e., one for your Donate button, and one for your Search box. If you’re not using widgets, you might want to consider downloading an add-on that will enable you to. They’re really easy to use and very helpful.
Good luck!

In reply to: Paypal button not workingOkay, turns out the Pay Pal people provide REALLY GOOD support! They send me a small amount of code that works perfectly. Here it is:
<img src=”https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_donateCC_LG_global.gif” border=”0″/>
Replace xxxx with your button ID, which you’ll find on your pay pal page.
Works like a charm!
Maybe this topic is now resolved?
Best,

In reply to: Paypal button not workingI’m having the same problem, only with the Donate button, which I want to appear inside a page. What happens is that I enter the code generated by Pay Pal, and save. When I check it on my page, it looks and works great….clicking the Donate button does exactly what it’s supposed to do. BUT then, the problem occurs after I log out of WordPress. I log out, and in my page, I click the Donate button and it sends me to my personal Pay Pal log in page which has a message stating that I must log in before I can perform this task.
After working together with Pay Pal to solve this problem, it became obvious that each time I log out of WordPress admin, part of the code gets deleted. I tried to repeat the situation three times, and each time I got EXACTLY the same result–the same portion of the code got deleted each time I logged out of WordPress admin.
I really hope someone can help with this–not only is it frustrating and time consuming, but I’m losing money (I found out about it after someone who wanted to donate contacted me to tell me she was unable to.)
Hope to solve this problem soon, and thanks in advance for your help,
Joanna

In reply to: Log In Problem on AwardspaceOkay, the problem is solved. I sent an email to [email protected] explaining exactly what the problem was and they fixed it! They got back to me within a very short period of time, and we exchanged emails until the problem was identified and solved! They were great, especially considering that their hosting is free! I highly recommend them for beginners.

In reply to: Log In Problem on AwardspaceI’m having basically the same problem with Awardspace. I am able to log in to my WordPress dashboard, but when I click any of the links (for example, Comments in moderation), I get redirected to https://www.awardspace.com/tour2.html and there is nothing I can do to moderate my comments! I’ve tried the above solutions and nothing worked. BTW, the entries mentioned in tamba2 were already there.
What to do? I cannot manage my blog at all.
Would be so grateful for any help.

In reply to: Line break issuesHi everyone,
I’m sorry to say that even the nbsp workaround isn’t working for me.
I’m also sorry to say that I’ve posted a reply in a few of these topics now, so i apologize for the dups.
but this is really a serious problem and there has to be some type of workable solution. It’s not just the inability to insert a blank line, it’s the waste of time involved–I’ve just spent hours searching the support section, and trying all sorts of things.
any solutions yet? Please?

In reply to: line breaksI’m sorry to say that I’m having the same problem. I’ve just spent hours trying to add a blank line in-between verses of a song whose lyrics I included in a post (https://www.itsaboutstartingover.com/2007/10/20/year-2-at-the-rimon-school/). It’s at the bottom of the page.
Please, please, can someone help with this? I really need to post lyrics to my blog (I’m a songwriter) and without a blank line between verses, they look awful!
Thanks in advance for your help,
Joanna

In reply to: line breaks and content management systemsHi you all,
I have to say that none of this works. aroostook, did you ever find a solution?
On this page of my blog, https://www.itsaboutstartingover.com/2007/10/20/year-2-at-the-rimon-school/ at the bottom, there are lyrics to a song. I’ve been trying for hours to insert a blank space between verses, and nothing, NOTHING works.
I tried hitting Enter twice (looks great in the wisiwyg), I tried entering the code
, I turned off the wisiwyg editor and entered the code again. Each time I saved, the code disappeared. Please help. This looks awful and lyrics will be a major part of my blog–I’m a songwriter!
Thanks in advance,
Joanna

In reply to: no static page optionAHA!!! I’ve solved my own problem. I’m posting it here instead of deleting the original post because someone else might do the same thing and need this simple information.
I had deleted the About page and although I wrote a new page to use as the static front page, I hadn’t published it. Evidently, you must have at lease one page published for the static page option to be available.
Thanks anyway, and successful blogging to us all!
